There's no use trying to argue still, Nick will somehow see Ed forgetting the lyrics as some kind of "concert experience" that makes the night memorable and unique. Whereas Chad and Pat having a laugh and good time whilst playing is completely unprofessional and uncalled for. I think Nick would like my old idea of them all wearing Ed masks, the more the merrier I guess!

I still just absolutely fail to see what Nick's point is, and I have completely changed my perception on Nicks "prediction" about Live's demise and put it down to pure coincidence. When he said he thought something was up I had images of maybe Chad flipping Ed the bird behind his back or something. Maybe Ed walking up to Chad to say something and Chad turning his back and walking off .. I dunno.
But this sort of shit I've seen them do years ago.

Back in 2001 I saw them and during the slow build up in White Discussion I remember Pat and Chad talking together before the song exploded and Chad went on this crazy run about the stage with his guitar and the performance was awesome. Should I have been feeling cheated when I saw them talking to each other? Were they mocking Ed then? What exactly do you expect them to be doing during a performance of Forever, Nick? You can't expect Chad to be stomping to that piece of crap (unless he's stomping ON that piece of crap). Personally I think it's great to see band members have a laugh on stage. I bet if Ed had walked over to one of them and shared a laugh then that would have been all ok.
You have absolutely no reason or right to feel cheated by what you saw in that video, and if you do then it's all in your fucking head.

Apparently Nick cares, I just don't think they were based on the evidence that Nick presented. I am more dumbfounded by Nick's assessment of that than what actually happend itself.

So Ed forgot a couple lyrics in 20 years. He forgot those lyrics back when he rocked too. What is your point with that? Maybe he avoided singing because he couldn't scream anymore or didn't feel like screaming. Or maybe he liked the crowd participation, when the crowd was singing along? Who really knows what you're trying to say

Does that mean he cheated the fans? Cause he didn't want to get vocal surgery for a second time? Sounds like you don't really consider anything regarding vocal health. Why don't you go scream for 3 hours at the top of your lungs half the year on tour

Most of you Ed haters sound like you are just going through separation anxiety, still mourning that your favorite rock band with your favorite singer just can't lay it down like he used to 15 years ago.

I am not mourning, I am happy they split, they should have in 2004 or 2005.



I never said I hated all of Ed's music, some of them are very decent, but nothing like long ago. I guess he cannot achieve that again with his voice change & surgery.

Nick just seems to be a special breed, i can't quite figure him out. He's just the opposite of me in so many ways, I can't quite put my finger on it. But his complete ignorance to how things actually are and the nothings he basis his opinions on just continue to blow my mind. Most people I can just disagree with, that's fine. I even don't have a problem with Nick liking Ed's music more than TGF, totally fine.He just knows how to push my buttons it seems

How about the multiple times where Ed forgot his own lyrics to the songs and either sang the wrong line or had to just avoid singing at all? I've seen it a few times.

Not to mention Ed saying the same things at every damn show at the same points. If the guy gave a damn and he wanted to talk then be spontanious, say something different, treat the fans (especially the ones who are seeing multiple shows) with a little respect.

When I saw him here last year he said on the first night that he wrote this song in Canberra (our Nation's capital). This was kinda met with .. not boo's, but a silence. Ed then said "whoa I didn't know about the whole Mel-BORN (god that annoys me)-Canberra thing" ... (firstly there is no Melbourne-Canberra thing). He made it into a joke, fair enough. The next night he said the exact same thing and then acted surprised when he found out there was a "Melbourne-Canberra thing". God damnit dude. Talk about sounding like a broken record.
He does this sort of shit all the time. I find that really cheating an audience when they do that .. no we didn't pay money to hear them talk, but basic human decency is to just not treat us like you're just going through the motions and have all these little prepared statements and try to pass it off as genuine.

But Nick will have some way of spinning that so it's all completely awesome.

Also this is a point with a lot of singers, not just Ed. I love seeing a show maybe 2 nights in a row and hearing the singer say completely different things and actually treat the audience like they want to be there and that they are "in the moment".

Lastly, just because you don't like Ed's music, doesn't mean he cheated the fans. That is your personal opinion about his music. Many people around the world still love Ed's newer stuff. Would you say those fans were cheated?

Oh see, but those fans don't count. And neither does anyone who liked SFBM. They're not real fans because they don't like the same stuff that the people here complaining like

2) From someone that took singing lessons: If you have to scream out your lungs for 3 hours, you should take singing lessons or look for another profession. (At least that goes for the ones that hope to continue singing and/or speaking...).

It was just as likely the smoking as the singing that killed Ed's throat. Along with booze, spicy food, caffeine! - another reason not to sell that freakin coffee - air conditioning.
Nodules are incredibly common whether you scream or not - as looking at the following list of singers who have had surgery for nodes/nodules should show: Steve Tyler, Elton John, Fish, Ian Anderson, Rod Stewart, Natalie Imbruglia, Lucinda Williams, Bonnie Tyler, Omarion, Geri Halilwell, Justin Timberlake, Bert McCracken, Tom Keifer, etc. And what about the singers that developed vocal chord nodes and didn't need to have surgery: Bono, Annie Lennox, Robert Plant, Whitney Houston, Johnny Rzeznik, Art Alexakis, Joss Stone, Mathew Good, Madonna.. Should they all find another profession?

I'm talking about moments where Ed would stop a line in the middle because he flat out forgot the words. Or parts where there were chorus changes, and he'd sing the entirely wrong chorus. There are some damn good singers out there that have done it for over 20 years and still deliver. It wasn't Ed trying to save his voice, it was him not being professional enough to remember his own damn lyrics. At least Michael Stipe, from REM, was man enough to admit that he forgot some lyrics so he does every show with a musical stand in front of him with the lyrics on it.

I've seen lots of singers forget the lyrics or switch the lyrics and not put the lyrics on stage. It's not a question of "professional", it just happens on tour because they sing the same song so many times it gets scrambled in their heads.
