It's kind of sad how every thread in the Ned side of this forum becomes a 1 v. 100 with Ned and the rest of us. I think only he cares about what Ned is doing unfortunately.

Wait was that statement a little confusing?

Not true. Don't mistake silence on the part of some for agreement. Even those on the fence don't necessarily agree.

There are plenty of threads in which the anti-Ed side manage to annoy other posters too by starting shit up. We've been over and over this. You bash Ed, you poke at Nick, until something starts up. and then if he says something provoking to you, you dogpile him. It's boring as shit.

that is an oversimplification of what has been happening here. Nick rarely says something provoking in regards to his blind defense of Ed. They are simplistic kneejerk responses, which sometimes includes some TGF bashing when there is no defense of Ed.

and i think its his unwillingness to even for one moment question out loud the ownership Ed has in the demise of this band we all love or loved that is infuriating.. to say that all 4 members dont "own" the end is pure bullshit.. (perhaps not all equally..)

if he really wants to help promote Ed, maybe a little less defense of him could go a long way - because the status quo is a huge turnoff

Yes, Yes...Ding Ding Ding......Ed has been cheating the fans by pushing what he thought the Live fans would want...........guess what....we yawned and took our chips elsewhere.

how is pushing what Ed thought the fans would want considered to be him cheating the fans? if you would quit embellishing and assuming in general, your severe bias would have some grounding.

Fact #1 Live's music suffered greatly with V, lots of fans left

Fact #2 After we only got a few songs which sounded like a collaborative Live effort, more fans left with Bird of Pray...(note the spelling of Pray)

Fact #3 Songs from Charred Mtn.........not too many long time fans still embracing...in fact this was the last straw for a lot of them.

Fact #4 TGF stated they weren't allowed to write on SFBM.....hence we now know why.(2005 contract)

Fact #5 Ed's alienation of himself & from from his best work to embrace his personal soft side & too inflated ego doomed his band and alienated C & C & P and left them on an island.

How about the multiple times where Ed forgot his own lyrics to the songs and either sang the wrong line or had to just avoid singing at all? I've seen it a few times.

Here's the problem. You saw the guys standing around joking and laughing during a simple ass lame song. It's certainly not technically difficult, and they're able to still play it while joking around. If anything I respect that because it shows that they're solid enough musicians that they can get away with it. You have NO FUCKING CLUE what they were talking about or laughing at. In other words, you have NO FUCKING ground to stand on with your claims. You say they were mocking, but others were at the show and didn't see mocking at all. Whatever you're on, I insist that you stop taking it.

I totally agree that the pre-V material rocks and is way better overall compared to the post-V material. SFBM, and much of BOP, and intitally all of V, I thought was sub par for what I considered my favorite band.

But I'm not going to sit here and say that just because I think the music started to suck more, that Ed is being an asshole for the past decade, or has been cheating the fans.

You don't just get to keep your talent at 100% your whole life. It was clear as of 10 years ago that his voice had diminished. Why do you expect him to have the same feverish drive being a father of 2, mature, accomplished man going through his 30's, compared to Ed as wisdom seeking, screaming, rocking young dude with tons to prove.

And I don't care what you say about CCP being involved. Ed is still the singer, and hes been the dominant force in Lives songwriting since day 1. I'm talking about the lyrics, melody, and vocal stylings. Ed wrote all of V too, just so you know.

Lastly, just because you don't like Ed's music, doesn't mean he cheated the fans. That is your personal opinion about his music. Many people around the world still love Ed's newer stuff. Would you say those fans were cheated?

So Ed forgot a couple lyrics in 20 years. He forgot those lyrics back when he rocked too. What is your point with that? Maybe he avoided singing because he couldn't scream anymore or didn't feel like screaming. Or maybe he liked the crowd participation, when the crowd was singing along? Who really knows what you're trying to say

Does that mean he cheated the fans? Cause he didn't want to get vocal surgery for a second time? Sounds like you don't really consider anything regarding vocal health. Why don't you go scream for 3 hours at the top of your lungs half the year on tour

Most of you Ed haters sound like you are just going through separation anxiety, still mourning that your favorite rock band with your favorite singer just can't lay it down like he used to 15 years ago.

What if you divide a Ned by zero? will the internet implode?

No. But if you type google into google it will

Whether you like the new music or not, I feel Ed has never half-assed a song in concert that I've personally seen, like the rest of the band did with Forever.

You can argue Ed cheats the fans, just as I can argue that Pat and the Chad's have done the same.

Should have at least paid attention at Texas 2003 boot where Ed is totally disinterested

Notice how Ned is quiet when you guys point out how often Ed has half assed performances due to disinterest, drugs, booze or all of the above?????

maybe some of those things might have helped him to rock out in the first place or at times. Sounds like typical rock star routine. You want to list these few "half assed" moments and then show me the breathalizer?

1) Yes he did.... and that annoyed me back then (through ALL concerts I've seen) and if he were in front of me tomorrow and would do that again, it would annoy me still. AND that doesn't go for "just" Ed, but for ANY singer that halfasses lyrics that HE/SHE wrote.

2) From someone that took singing lessons: If you have to scream out your lungs for 3 hours, you should take singing lessons or look for another profession. (At least that goes for the ones that hope to continue singing and/or speaking...).

3) So if you're not in favor, you're against?

Not a black & white world yanno.....

The post was directed at Nick, but since you choose to respond, I'll fire back. Besides, Nick doesn't respond to any posts.

I'm talking about moments where Ed would stop a line in the middle because he flat out forgot the words. Or parts where there were chorus changes, and he'd sing the entirely wrong chorus. There are some damn good singers out there that have done it for over 20 years and still deliver. It wasn't Ed trying to save his voice, it was him not being professional enough to remember his own damn lyrics. At least Michael Stipe, from REM, was man enough to admit that he forgot some lyrics so he does every show with a musical stand in front of him with the lyrics on it.
