That's hilarious, and the goal is one I'll never forget. Love that man!

I wish we had half a Dennis Bergkamp in our team.

I saw some of the Italy v New Zealand match ... some kiwi guys elbow seemed to make minimal contact with an Italian player's face .. he then proceeded to roll around on the ground like he'd been shot in the face and no one batted an eyelid. It was quite obviously completely faked but man watching a game where that sort of shit is tolerated would be frustrating. It's bad enough when they do it in other sports but it looks much worse in soccer.

Having said that I also saw some of .. uh, I can't even remember the team, was it portugal that scored 500 goals against someone? There were like 3 goals in 10mins or something, that was actually pretty cool to see!

That would've been Portugal - North Korea.
Awesome!

True, but they aren't the only ones.

Anyone remember Kaka's red card? That second yellow card was just totally ridiculous... sad to see such a player get sent off. If it's some shitty player, who cares?

But he is a great player, and from a great team.. so that sucks.

It's a land filled with operasingers.... just be glad they don't start to sing half an opera titled: how that other soccerplayer tried to hit me in the face......

omg.gif

But..the whole dramatic thing makes it impossible to play soccer... I for one hope they won't run into the dutchies.... It nags me how they stretch the match to the penalties and then win shrug.gif

Someone posted a comment on one of my FB friend's threads that this year's World Cup was kind of similar to World War II:

France surrendered, the U.S. was late, and Italy picked the wrong side.

Someone else added in:

And England was bombed by the Germans.

Yeah, I think that sums it up pretty well.
