World Cup Update:

was at the Holland v Japan game on Saturday in my home city, Durban.

It was once again an awesome experience. The colours and the vibe were really special and the atmosphere is something I fear we might never experience again on these shores - I intend to make the most of it, every chance I get.

The Dutch fans really are a sea of Orange. They are fun and loud and crazy as always - they create a truely unique experience. Having said that, the Japanese fans were equally amusing and entertaining - especially the Sumo Wrestlers!

I think the Holland victory pretty much seals qualification for them - I'm hoping they finish the group top, so we get to see them again in Durban for the Round 16 game! That would be the 3rd match I would see them in at the tournament, so I consider myself quite lucky in that regard, since I have always supported Holland at the major tournaments.

I managed to pick up tickets for Nigeria vs Korea last night - FIFA are a bit mental as every day they keep releasing previously 'sold out' tickets. I was quite happy to pick them up on the cheap tho. I don't support either nation and will be attending largely for the vibe - my wife is not that crazy about football, but after the Holland game, she is now addicted to the experience of attending WC games - so, we will be going to lend our voice to the Nigerians and hope ONE team in Africa makes it through at the very least! HAH!

Brazil v Portugal in Durban on Friday is the one I'm most looking forward to at the moment - and the vibe in that game will be electric! I'm told it's an absolute sell out and most dignitaries and such will be attending.

As promised, pics will follow once I have stopped going to the matches! It will end soon, promise!

Final game of the season last season (2009/10) Chelsea vs Wigan if I remember correctly - Chelsea needed 3 goals to be the 1st team to score 100 league goals in a single season - the final score was 7 or 8 nil. I forget now - but that reaction was at 2-0.
