I'm not coming to anyone's rescue; I get tired of hearing the generic phrase "grow up" in response to behaviors that one doesn't like. I think of it as the "I don't like what that person is doing but I'm not smart enough to figure out why, so I'll just say 'grow up' and that will hopefully get them to stop" phrase. So, please elaborate.
