Ed did all the legwork and wrote the songs. They basically just played their pre-arranged parts on the album. I don't think the rest really deserve ownership of something that they didn't create in the first place.

And why not make it official by creating your own secret contract. Sounds reasonable.

Like I said before, now Ed has REAL session musicians he can take a much bigger cut and not feel guilty about it because there job is specifically to support him,. Rather than signing contracts behind his FRIENDS back he should have said "hey guys, I'm going to take a bigger pay cut because I have written these songs, are you guys cool with it? because if not I'll get some dudes to replace you" .. harsh, but at least that would be upfront.
Nick do you not see how legally right or wrong this is just a complete dick thing to do, would you do this to your friends? If you were Ed, would you absolutely honestly do it without telling them?

Chad Taylor is not stupid, he's a smart guy .. I'm sure if he decided to fight it then he has a point and a legit reason to do so. Otherwise it would just get thrown out of court. So when he posted that blog I choose to believe that he has legit reason to do so, and if it were exactly as black and white as you seem to be thinking it is .. well .. god damnit it just isnt.

The information was given by Chad to quell the rumor mill here.....did you forget this very fact? He didn't go into minute details, only a few high level facts......I highly doubt judge would grant Ed leinancy saying Chad libeled him in a blog......if the facts are true of course. I think we've been given insight that it's 3 of the saying it against 1. Fact is that they are all not pulled from public view, as they still are written about in media stories.....Maybe Ed threatened Libel as his only defense.....who knows, who cares......until information is publically shared or not.
