I have no idea if that picture of Ed was intended for TGF or not, but there is/was a lot of animosity on both sides. Ed obviously has some also, for whatever reason, which maybe legitimate. I doubt we will ever know the 100% true story and that's probably a good thing.

To be fair, the other three never were able to stand up to Ed and they let him take control of the band's musical direction the past 10 years. If anyone has shown to be spineless, it is Pat and the Chad's.

I don't think Nick should have to stay out or promise not to say bad things .. true it is worse if he was a mod here, but it's more a problem when the bad things he says is totally unfounded. If he had a legit point or something then that's cool.

The fact is: Ed wrote the majority of the last 3 albums

The rest of the how's, why's, and what's are totally speculation. So for Nick to say the other guys were spineless is based on nothing.

True they may have all been sitting there too affraid to speak up out of fear they would break the band and such.
Or possibly they said they would support Ed even if they wern't completely into it, they are/were great friends afterall, and you do support your friends. My thoughts are that they purposely didn't stand up because they thought things would just turn around once Ed had gotten the "soft churchy" sound out of his system .. then when it became clear he didn't after SFBM it went splitsville.

So either scenario could be just as likely as the next. one paints Ed in a more positive light, one doesn't. Nick is always going to go with the one that has Ed as the good guy.

Also whilst we're on the topic of Nick, can he be banned from using the phrase "it makes sense..." because it is almost always followed by a statement that doesn't make sense.

I responded to someone calling Ed spineless, by pointing out that the other 3 members of Live basically allowed Ed to control the band the past 10 years(seemingly against their will).

I will not TGF bash unprovoked. But if certain members continue to bash Ed, I think I am in my rights to respond. Especially since I'm not a moderator of this forum, just a member with the ability to post.

I wouldn't call them out for being spineless. Cautious not to upset the apple cart yes. They afforded him every opportunity to have this direction and they have stated this. Fish's post from month ago where he had a conversation with Chad on the lastest material painted a very clear picture of why things were the way they were. The secret contract which has his signature only goes to show where C&C&P loyalty got them. This has been gone over ad nauseum

So basically you think that the other members are at fault for not speaking up? Not that Ed should have realised "hey this is a band and not a solo project, perhaps I should include my friends in the song writing process a little more?".
I know you'll put the TGF guys to blame. Always. But put yourself in Ed's shoes, would you not have thought of your friends?
Whilst the other guys might not have been as vocal (who knows, maybe they were, maybe there were heaps of fights, we dont know). But even if they were not vocal, do you really think if Ed had of turned to them for ideas they would have gone "no no, you just do all the work, we'll just follow along, thanks for asking though".
I'd have to believe that Ed didn't give regard to his friends and basically took control and said "this is what we're doing now". Are the other guys at fault for not speaking up? Maybe. Is Ed a complete ass for treating his friends that way? Sure.

Dude you are forgetting one major point - ED DOESN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG! How can you not know this??

Honestly, it blows my mind that Nick just blindly puts his manlove of Ed ahead of common sense. If I liked Ed's music more than TGF .. if TGF' music just didn't appeal to me at all, but all the circumstances and info around the breakup we have was exactly as it is .. I still think I'd be able to say "Ok I like Ed's music more, but TGF's side of the story makes a hell of a lot more sense than Ed's".
Nick can't see this. Nick likes Ed's music more, which is fair enough, but it seems just because he like's Ed's music more, this also excuses Ed in every other way and means that he is in the right.

Music aside here, creative direction was dictator like. I don't give a rats as if Nick thinks Ed's shit doesn't stink. Nick, answer me this.....you appear on the surface to be very unforgiving and unrelenting...almost downright spoiled. Did you ever work hard in your life to achieve anything? These guys did for one direction then one's ambitions changed that and we know what happened.
