Ed isn't touring with Live this summer, Kevin is touring with Candlebox. Totally different scenario.

Listen carefully.........Kevin had committments with Candlebox, you know, like obligations to his bandm ates, friends, fellow musicians! Kevin chose to honor those obligations because it was the right thing to do! He didn't demand extra money, he didn't take on an attitude, he didn't say HE was candlebox, etc., etc., etc. In other words, he behaved like a responsible, level headed human being and is going about the business at hand.

Ed touring with LIVE???? It's not going to happen and you have one person to hold accountable for that - DA EK. The main difference between Ed and the other three is that they will be there to help pick him up after he crashes and burns. That is what friends do. It's about friendship and he seems to have forgotten when, where and who gave him his start.

For Nick's information here are some other side projects that are just as "successful" as the musicians main project.

Stone Sour (Jim Root and Corey Taylor of Slipknot)

A Perfect Circle, Puscifer (Manyard James Keenan of Tool)

Sixx AM (Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue)

The Postal Service (Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie)

Alter Bridge (Members of Creed)

Gorillaz (Members of Blur)

Dashboard Confessional (Started as a side project while Chris Carraba was in Further Seems Forever)

That is what he is not so subtly implying with his prediction and his reasoning for that prediction.

Nick just doesnt understand the record business. Success to him means album sales and radio time which in his brain equals money. What he doesnt realize is that bands hardly make any money from that. Most of the income comes from tours (merchandise, portion of the concessions sold, ticket sales) and other means such as publishing and public performance.

In all honesty we should all just stop arguing with him because he a close minded individual who doesnt want to learn or understand anything about the music industry. To him Ed is be all end all, the only thing that matters in music. Unfortunately for him, Eds music cannot compare musically to most of the bands out there and I feel bad that his closed mind is making him miss out on some great music.

What I find interesting about the prediction is it assumes failure on the part of Ed as well.

If Ed makes bank as a solo artist there is no way he'd go back to Live. He can make more as a solo artist if he is successful, and he doesn't even have to cheat anyone.

I seriously doubt that Ed or TGF will be successful now as they were with Live or Candlebox in the 90's.

It would make sense for Live to tour again at some point. The band hasn't taken a break in the past 15-20 years. Coming back in reunion form a couple years from now could be a decent moneymaker and be fun for the fans.

Nick, once again Sally has to come in to slap you into reality. You make the situation worse with your asinine predictions.

You honestly think that The Gracious Few's album will rank with Live and Candlebox's best when it comes to sales and critical respect? You think the new band's fame will actually rival what they have already accomplished?

No way in hell.

Probably not as CD sales are way down with the new digital age. Go read the post I linked from alt addiction discussing the record sales slump to all time lows. I think i will garner a lot f attention ad sell very well for this day & age. Let's wait and see Mr. Professor Billboard.

...and once again you change topics when you're getting your ass handed to you!!!! Still didn't answer Sonic & my question. You're like 10 Second Tom from Adam Sandler' 50 First Dates movie.

I seriously doubt TGF or Eds cd will sell 500K copies. Thats not a knock on either group, its just the way things are in the musical landscape now. Very hard to sell copies without a major label's support. 0% chance either venture is nearly as successful, sales wise, as they were in the past.
