You guys do realize the boys COULD record again under the name Live again with another lead singer, right? It wouldn't have to be Ed.

I don't think they're dedicating the rest of their lives to TGF, even if some of the posters on this board are!

Oh yeah:

Yeah, I wouldn't like to see them go forward with Live with someone other than Ed. That would blow.

The only obvious truth on this board is that we like our drama served hard and fast!!!

Nick, where does your hate stem from in all these matters? Yeah, I agree the bromance is a bit disturbing.

It is realism. TGF have just released a single and are getting ready to release an album, but Kevin Martin is spending a good part of his summer touring with Candlebox. It is a total conflict of interest for The Gracious Few and it makes the band look like Kevin Martin's side project.

Say what you want about Ed Kowalczyk, but his upcoming album is his soul business focus. The guy is touring his butt off to promote "Alive" and is working hard to make the album a success. You have to respect his work ethic at the very least.

I don't respect Ed's "work ethic." He's a god damn washed up rock star. His life is easier than just about anyone's. Even if this is his "soul" (please tell me you aren't actually a teacher) focus.

The next time someone asks why everyone fights on this board about Ed vs. TGF I am just going to point them towards this post.

No one was talking about Ed at all until just now.

You know why I respect Kevin's work ethic? Because I sent him a message via Facebook and he took the time to respond to it. Also, because he could easily blow off his bandmates in Candlebox (and the fans) to focus on TGF full-time but he hasn't (or vice versa).

Talk of "side projects" is just so fucking old school. Look at Jack White. He has 3 or 4 different bands right now. Hell, Dave Groehl man! How many different things has he done since starting Foo Fighters?

Why do I bother?

Repeating mantra, "Do not engage, do not en... aw fuck it". Dude this is not realism, it's your fantasy. You really think Kevin is that distracted by playing a few dates with CB? TGF doesn't even begin their tour until this fall. And so what if they are intertwined. Like it was mentioned, it doesn't seem to affect Jack White or Dave Grohl, two highly talented and in demand musicians. Maybe Ed isn't doing anything else because there is nothing else for him to do. What else is there? He's not in a band anymore, it's all about him. He's alienated his lifelong friends. I respect him about as much as I respect you, for being so singularly focused you can't even see how ridiculous you are.

One of my drumming heroes Mike Portnoy plays in Dream Theater and has so many side projects and shit I can't even name em all. DT is playing a tour with Iron Maiden (just started last nigt so go catch 2 awesome bans if near you lol) and Mike just recorded all drum parts for the new Avenged Sevefold album (cause their drummer passed away) and he will be touring with them till they find a perm drummer. That and he has a wife and kids. And he was also touring for one of his side projects. NOW that's fuckign commitment.
ANd is a tool like Nick gonna come and tell me that someone like Portnoy is not 100% dedicated to any of those projects he can go fuck himself. You're a fucking retard NIck for thinking that a human being cannot have more than one thing going on at the same time. Maybe a simple retard mtv fed mind like you does. so thinking Kevin can't balance 2 projects???... you are mistaken.

Don't know too much Candlebox material (from what I've heard I like some songs and don't like others), but I might go see them at the Starland. Probably would be a fun show.

If you like solid, technical musicianship and a lot of stage energy you'll have a blast. Kevin has great stage presence and both of the guitarists are stellar (Peter Klett is ridiculously good). Don't even get me started on their drummer...

I've never seen them put on a bad show, even when the crowd wasn't great.

Sounds good. For $20, I'm sure it's worth it. By the way, is Sean not the lead guitarist in Candlebox?
