No trolling is having absolutely nothing of worth to contribute. Someone who is posting for no other reason than to cause trouble. The people who use harsh language here are still making a point. Some people need to grow thicker skin, god damnit the internet has been around how long, and you're complaining about swearing on it now? If the swearing annoys you so much, just read their posts and drop the swear words and focus on the points they're making.

Which which you agree so you're willing to put up with them - and of course they aren't attacking you.
I've read at least as many insightful posts by people who *are* able to express themselves without degenerating into attacks on the band members or other posters.

No, I think that anyone regardless of their point of view should be able to say whatever they want in whatever manner they want. I'll disagree or agree with their point of view, not how they're expressing it. If Nick became agressive in his posts, or stayed placid, my view and opinion wouldn't change because he's still making the same point.
If people here are attacking band members then they obviously feel a great deal of hurt, or passion about the situation. If they didn't then I'm sure they have better things to do with their time than stay here.

Wait a minute. I thought it was Live that killed the forum? But you also want it to be over-modding? Was there over-modding months ago? If there was, why are there are still people here making "harsh" posts?

Yeah you sort of didn't read that in context. I said that Live themselves was killing this forum. Then I said that generally forums die due to over modding. I wasn't talking about this one in particular, but over modding will kill it if that's where it heads.

Ed is a nutcase. When he realized LIVE was losing popularity in the very late 90s, he lost it and started desperately trying to regain the spotlight. Fred Durst, Dennis Rodman..... then came the release of V, which was awful and a horrible, horrible attempt at trying to match the Linkin Parks of the world. I remember seeing him in May 2001, their first show since V was finished, and it was obvious he was trying to be as cool as possible but failing miserably. It was embarrassing. When he realized that didn't work and it became abundantly clear LIVE was no longer relevant, he figured he couldn't compete with the Linkin Parks so he'd try to recreate TC, but was so nuts by this point it just wasn't possible. BOP is decent, and somewhat worthy, but nothing like TC and his comparison of BTPT to Stage is fucking laughable. When this didn't work, he chalked it up to alternative being out of style and tried to hit a different market with SFBM. Another fail. When that didn't work, he chalked it up to needing to take his show solo, because obviously his band was holding him back. In fact they were holding him back so much, he deserved all the money for their work.

In case you didn't notice, the theme is that since they lost the spotlight, each "album" has featured drastic changes all aimed at hitting a new market and trying to reinvent himself. He will keep trying until it works. And it won't, ever. It's sad. He's desperate. And I will not buy his shiteating album which is about as rocking as a tree fucking sesame street soundtrack. Fuck Ed. Fuck his album. And fuck you all for supporting this egotistical, hypocritical, Adam Lambert wannabe polesmoking hipster doofus. Fuck you.

V is all about feeling the love, sure it doesn't rock in the same way as the records prior

As maddening as it is for us to see the downfall of Ed, imagine what he must feel like when he listens to MJ, TC, SS, TDTH. To know you were once so talented and now to have become a publicity whore selling pendants and coffee with Hot AC aspirations has to haunt him. Or does it?

I think he feels a little embarrassed about being immature during mj, tc, ss. i don't think he wants his daughters seeing him act like that sort of a wacko, and he doesn't mind coming off as an ambiguous religious/wholesome wacko....but yea his old music is way cooler

I think if I were the child of a rockstar I'd much rather see them stand at the mic sensibly and sing with guitar and such rather than skipping and prancing and a gyrating around on stage, that'd be more embarrassing..

One of the weirdest dances were peoduced by Ed during Heropsychodreamer back in 1997. Without a guitar. But he was so mad and overpassioned, that this stage presence did look overcool and frightening

yeah he certainly had some weird moves, but he made them work. They came off as eccentric like his skipping and arm flapping in white discussion. Now days it's less eccentric and just try hard and lame. Now it looks like he's trying to dance and be cool and failing as opposed to looking possessed by the music before.

Seriously? You're trying to make this about swearing? I probably swear more than you do in real life - but I save it for when it's appropriate. I've learned that in work situations and in forums that it never leads to anything good.
And it's not even the "fuck yous" that bother me - they can be ignored, it's the bullying.

Fair enough. But I've been on a lot of forums where you can post until a mod has read your comment. I consider *that* over-modding. And yet they're still going strong.
It's the attraction of the debate, not the modding in my experience, that kills a forum.
