Ok, we have not had this stupid thread before, but... after reading stuff about Alter Bridge and Creed and etc etc I thought that really re-union is nearly inevitable...

So.. vote away... Let us see what the fols think.

when hell freezes over.......just saying!

They are going off in different directions musically...i could care less if they get back together. I like the direction TGF is going....Ed...not so much.

5 years - my vote.

They need time to make a pop record on one side and a rocking record on another one just to undesrtand that time does heal everything, and combining the pop direction with hard rocking music edge can make them much more popular than on their own.

And anyway, old friendship is much better than 1000 old friendships. I for one remain immature and hopefull that there is universal justice and there will always be the four of them.

re-unions always depends on the reasons for the original break-up.

In Live's case (although we know nothing for sure) it wasn't quite pretty....

It really doesn't look like one side (that states never to work with Ed again) will ever work with the other side (that in a really strange way seem to deny that they've ever existed, damn eh.gif ).

than again, they always end statements about Live with something like 'never say never'. There's hope, but not much hope, I guess.

Hard to say ... so many bands that break up that claim they will never work together again end up caving at some point and getting back together (still not The Smiths however!). If Live do then I would think probably 5yrs + at this point .. I doubt this will be the only TGF and solo albums we see, they'll at least have one more each up their sleeves. TGF seem to just be having too much fun to stop at one album, and Ed is probably enjoying having complete and utter 100% creative control without feeling guilty burying his friends in the process.

However, if they come back together I really hope it is hashed out that they write as a cohevsive unit, like the old days. If they can't do this, then I'd prefer them remain seperated (although even if the band doesn't make music together, it'd be nice to see them repair the friendship at least).
They may do a Pixies and just reunite for tours only because going into the studio would cause too much friction again ... although now I believe Pixies might actually be working on an album.

I think if they get together, it will not be a problem to hit the studio again.

I say the 5+ years. Right now they're acting the way they are because they just broke up and are angry/bitter/whatever. They'll both let off some steam and have some fun making a couple albums, wounds will heal, they'll miss playing the old songs and get back together. Ed will have run out of ideas for his upbeat songs and will feel angst for them not selling as well as he wanted, and they'll be back to the old LIVE. Maybe...

I agree with Pokey. Id really hope they could mend the friendships that they had, as far as a reunion I dont see it. They hadn't been the "old Live" for a very long time, and we witnessed what these guys half assing it produced over the last decade.

I vote for never. The energy I saw last Thursday at TGF show was something I have not seen from Live in over 10 years. I don't think that Live could ever rekindle that energy either. I've moved on. I'll always remember the first 4 albums and how they helped shape my life, but its time to rock out with TGF.

I think its enevitable that they will get back to together. There is too much history and really a good bit of money to be made. (as long as Ed doesent demand 50%)! After some new creations of music from both TGF and Ed I think there would be a good chance of them finally seeing the light and making up. Ironically the break up may be the best think to reignite LIVE in popularity if they could come together and write music all together again. If not, well, we have TGF and Ed's music will sound like what LIVE would have been if they stayed together anyway. So I think the breakup righ now is the best thing for the fans and the guys. Maybe Ed wil get this pussy rock out of his system and come back for one more rocking album when they get back together. rockin.gif
