Great video, but not at all as good as some of the video's he did with Live. Still better than the Forever and Runaway video.
What? Are you kidding me? Do you own the Awake DVD? (oke, that wasn't a serious question as you are/were Live fan). But really, did you mean that?

Run to the Water added Ed perfectly in a video that had a little story in it, giving each bandmember a role.
Dolphin's Cry video made every music televison listener and watcher looking: WTF?! Especially when you realise it was bbefore all the computer generated video's of today
Lakini's Juice and Freaks video are so weird that they become art
I Alone video: soooo lob budget, but soooo epic (and not only known that way for the Live community)
Simple Creed, They Stood Up For Love, Lightnight Crashes, Turn My Head had "oke" videos but still better than Grace.

Anyway.... this is not Live, so let's say it's just a good video! nod.gif

How bad was Run Away and The River? tongue.gif

I am struck by how much more energy and promotion and budget seem to be going into Ed's solo career than went into SFBM when Live was signed with Sony. The last few videos that Live made looked like there was zero budget. This video has special effects and extras walking around and just looks higher budget. And Ed is reaching out to fans constantly. Doing more appearances. Scheduling full band and acoustic tour dates. Giving free shows. He threw up a website and merch store in no time flat. Wow. The Friends Of Live website was run without the band putting anything into it by a very dedicated person who desrved a lot of credit. And the Live merchandise store and Homespun were run on a self-sustaining shoe-string budget by a very dedicated person who desrved alot of credit. Ed seems to care a lot more about this solo work. That's not a bad thing. It's his career, he should try and reboot it if he can.

I just really think that Ed is looking at his career and his life, and is probably looking at his buddy Daughtry and all the money he is making, and Ed is probably thinking to himself that he can make a run at it and see if he can get a second life out of his rockstar fame and fortune and hit it big again. Clearly once Live lost its luster, there is no turning that ship around. Very few bands can come back from the dead. But if he shakes things up, makes a change, maybe he can catch a spark again. Capitalize on the fanbase of Live and then add to it with new fans and maybe even Daughtry fans who think he is cool too. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he gets a little help from Daughtry in some way. I don't begrudge him this. Anybody who cares about their career, their family and is only one or two steps away from the bright light and big money of fame and fortune would invest in a reboot and take a run at it.

I just watched it again. Random thoughts - It looks like a Lightening Crashes ghost effect at the beginning. I don't like the Michael Jackson Black or white video effect where Ed's clothes change. He seems to have stolen TGF's logo style with the words that appear on the screen. His anger doesn't quite match the song because it doesn't rock THAT much. Maybe Ed thinks this rocks more than it does. Where was Adam in the video? Was he marginalized because he has a music career of his own and Ed doesn;t want him to steal the spotlight? I would have put my brother in there at least as much as the other guitarist. I still like the song and video. I just wish the Christian rock message wasn't so overt.

I think the lack of Adam has to do with the fact that he wasn't involved in the studio aspect of the album, like the other 3 members of Ed's band.

Nothing wrong with someone furthering their career, it is how he is choosing to further his career that gives a lot of us pause.

I didn't realize Adam wasn't involved at all in the studio project. That really sucks.

I think Ed plays the rhythm guitar on the album. He announced that Adam was going to go on tour with him well after the album was recorded, so I'm assuming he wasn't involved.

I'm with you. And in this case, it is all the worse because it comes from a person that most of us held to a higher standard because of his lyrics and what he presented himself as during the first 10+ years of his career. The guy who wrote lyrics from MJ to TDTH (and even V) shouldn't conduct himself like the Gordon Gecko of music.

Not bad - some nice bits in there - hey that almost looks like a real band on stage and shit! wink.gif

However, I did find the song + video very Daughtry-ish.

By the by, was that the infamous 'Pendent' Ed was wearing?

The song is decent for what it is (Top 40 / Hot AC) but for me still doesn't compare to the new TGF stuff.

The video is well done although I do have a few comments..

- Now i'm dizzy like many of you surrender.gif
- I could have done without the words and swirly graphics
- If he's trying to be like Daughtry somebody should tell him to lose that vest

I am pretty sure that is a q-link pendant. Maybe not this exact one but a different style http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-Clarus-Q-LINK-Silve...=item58869d7f18

He used to link them in the "books" section on his website. I don't see it there now though.
