Closing the board because of the Ed vs TGF fights would be wrong. This board has brought fans so much joy and pleasure that it would be sad if it ends abruptly as Live ended.

Maybe a good decision to make it a LIVE-forum, to talk, share media and inform people.

I'm quite sure there will be one or more TGF and Ed forums outside of this board at the time both albums are released.

i didnt know that was the purpose of this board.. i thought it was to hash out the good, bad and ugly of any and all things live related.. to when they bring it, to be when they dont.. and even to a little... for the fans BY the fans

for years this has been my first place to come for info regarding dates, releases, and yes, sadly even news about the bands demise.... but "promotion"? that has a rather formal connotation to it. so do tell Nick, i think you owe the folks here at least some disclosure.. i.e., the capacity in which you continue to post. is it as Nick, life long Live fan, or Nick, Ed's twitter and FB admin? can we even separate the two anymore?

i do not begrudge you an awesome opportunity to work w/for one of your musical favs - but if Ed has somehow "bought" a piece of FansofLive, explicitly or implicitly via your role- i think we deserve to know.

Hi-jacking threads will lead to the early demise of this board. I've had numerous Ed fans say that they stopped posting here because they don't want to be attacked by TGF fans. It really is pathetic.

Closing shop may not be a bad idea. I'd rather the board be gone, than have it supporting a band that I don't like.

You are missing the point. This has nothing to do with the TGF but with the fans of Live who have been disappointed in how Ed destroyed the band.

Totally, he's just excited that it's more money in Ed's pocket. I think he'd get more enjoyment out of watching Ed laze by a pool sipping a martini than he would from a really good piece of music to listen to.

If a talented singer/songwriter wields a rocking band for over a decade, and then gets older and loses his spark, then that singer/songwriter may have digressed of natural causes. The singer would have not then ruined the band.

If a talented singer/songwriter wields a rocking band and is vital to the bands success, and then loses his skill and screws his band members at the tail end the bands union, he still didn't ruin the band. The band in that configuration was already thoroughly exhausted. If these circumstances might have occured, then he might have ruined his friendships. If you can't rock but want to stay in the game, then you might have to go pop. And if pop meant selling to a new market, then the band decided to go that way instead of splitting right away. I bet Ed wanted to rock badly, and had to make compromises down the line, between his dying voice, lack of inspiring rock material, changes in the music industry, and the end of the alt rock trend.


Ok? If you start to suck or get in a money spat at the end of your career, you didn't ruin the band.

I was not aware this 'place' was for band promotion.

I thought it was a sanctuary for fans with a common interest in a particular band?
