and to love: an Ed
And to fear: a Kev
and to burn: a board called Fansoflive
(pubububububum)

and to right or wrong
and to meek or strong
it is known, just post it on this board

I've wailed, I've walked, I've read
I've talked, I sang, I dance,
I've killed Lakini's Juuuuuuuuuuice

hey, now it won't be raped
hey, now Chad won't stomp to it like that

it's the song that burns
it's the stomp that turns
it's the way I sing that makes 'em throw uuuuuup

and to Chad: a stomp
and to me: a "Grace"
I will sing and dance like Britney Spears

thats hilarious Ed !!!!

It was an evening I shared with myself
to find out where I went wrong
from the earliest days
I was stomping with Chad Taylor

More pendants
cuz I got to sell them
more coffee
cuz I got to make a buck

Yeah I recorded that with my blackberry. By the way I was standing 5 feet from Kevin and Chad and I can honestly say that Kevin did the song justice, which is something that Ed hasn't done since 1999.

I was also standing five feet from Kevin and I totally agree with this statement. Ed has been singing that song like a pussy for years and I thought Kevin did an amazing job. Yeah he sings it differently but that doesn't mean he didn't sing it well. Unlike some people around here I do realize that Live was not made up of Ed alone and Lakini's has kind of always been more about the music then the voice to me anyway. I think the point is it kicked ass on Thursday night just like it should and like it used to before Ed lost his balls.

I watched the performance on youtube with Kevin and while it isn't as good as Ed's at all, it is passable. TGF is better off doing the song decently than not at all.

People are upset that Ed's band doesn't play the song as well as the "Live guys" Well to me, it is the same deal. I'd rather hear Lakini's Juice than not hear it.

Make sure you download the .mp4 file to your computer.
Then install VLC Media Player - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Thanks Dan and OTD, it finally worked!

Hard to tell much from that clip. I'm glad they are playing it though. Looking forward to hearing a better quality clip of it. (no offense Aitkens)

None taken, I recorded it with my blackberry so I knew it wouldn't be the best quality. Look I was there and so was Heather, so we both experienced it first hand. It rocked. Kevin did a great job with the song and performed it better then Ed has in the last 10 years anyway. He did the song justice, and its been a while since Lakini's Juice has gotten that. He didn't over sing the song, he didn't try to be better than the song, and he didn't play the falsetto game. He just sung the song, and you could tell he was enjoying himself and getting into it.

I love how Nick thinks it's a "fair point", it was an opinion not a point to make. If he'd said "I think ed's voice is better for this song because....." then that could be making a point. But he just said we should now all agree that Ed is better, opinion.

agreed. Instead he just types dumb empty shit.

so far I have read all the reviews you posted, concerning the show and LJ, and from those on facebook who said they were at the show as well, as well as Heather, you guys have all consistently reported TGF as being a rocking band - a band that has done LJ justice.

As LIVE fans, we are really critical when it comes to 'our' band and 'our' music - especially epics like Lakini's Juice. I, and many others here have expressed our disappointment at how Ed and his backing band have rendered the song - together with many who were actually at his show and deemed it sub-standard.

To hear you guys, as fans of LIVE, come out and say TGF did the song justice makes me excited about the times ahead with TGF. I've said it before, that I underestimated KM. I heard very little Candlebox, and so far what we've heard of TGF, is really powerful and rocking.

and it keeps getting better.

You should be excited!! I will admit that when I heard Kevin was their choice for lead singer I wasn't super excited. I did like Canldebox way back when they first started out, in fact I liked them alot, but lost interest in them in recent years. I'd also heard from a friend that had seen him in concert that his voice wasn't great live, so that worried me. BUT, his voice was spot on when I saw TGF and the friend that wasn't impressed when he saw him a few years ago was with me and he was blown away this time! The man has a voice that is PERFECTLY suited for the music TGF is making and after seeing them together on stage I don't think they could have made a better choice. Yeah, if he covers Live songs there will be constant comparisons but as long as he can belt out the words and sound good doing it while the band behind him plays the shit out the songs then that is good enough for me!
