I live in Buffalo and it was annouced today that Ed is coming on July 1 to play Thursday in the Square - a free weekly concert series in the city. I am torn as to what I should do. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to pick sides, but I find myself really rooting for TFG to succeed - more so than Ed. In a weird way I feel dirty going to see Ed, because I'm in TGF's corner. However, I'm such a huge Live fan, that it's silly not to see Ed play a free show.

I now know what kids go through when their parents get divorced.

I support both sides. I'm buying both albums, seeing both in concert, etc. I hope both are successful. If it's seeing one or both or even neither, you just have to do what will make you happy.

I will listen to Ed's record, Can't say I've been happy with the direction the band took the past 10 years. His music today is not why I started listening to Live. I am totally biased but I wont dredge my dissatisfaction. I wont go see him perform, hope he does well if it's possible.

I support TGF all the way, not for the competition, but for the idea and the sheer expression they wish to embrace. Count me in for 25 purchased CD copies......anyone who may want one and can't have the means to get one.....we can talk later.

For those who understand my humor, I present you Frank Drebin, Police Squad.

You going to Ed's show will not stop TGF from succeeding. The two things are totally unrelated. It isn't like TGF is playing a show the same night and you have to make a choice. Ed is playing your town July 1st, TGF begins their tour in the fall.

Enjoy the show!

eh.gif Err I don't think you do. I think watching your parents get divorced as a kid is a lot more traumatic then watching a band break up.

I won't pay Ed another fucking dime. No way in hell.

I guess I have to thank him though. Without him being such a douche and ruining Live, we wouldn't be blessed with The Gracious Few. So thank you Ed, you're still a fucking douche though.

I can`t and i won`t pick sides. I do not understand the hate some of you feel against Ed.
I guess i am not a hate person. I will follow them both.
Although i still don`t like Kevins voice/sound but i am giving it a try .The movies on you tube of the free concert are not of that quality that i can say : Yeah this is it.
But i wait and see wat the album will bring.
Meanwhile: Make love, not war lol.gif ( yes, i`m from the Woodstock generation )

lol yeah that's an extreme comment.

If you want to go though then go. If you like both then more power to you, I wish I liked both then i'd have 2 albums and tours to look forward to. But instead Ed isn't getting another cent out of me. You don't have to pick sides, the only reason some of us have is just because it came about naturally, it's just how we feel.

I think you're making way too big a deal out of this. If you want to go just go. Comparing it to a parent's divorce is a tad bit extreme don't ya think? Personally I wouldn't go see Ed because he makes shit music. He actually did play here in York not long ago and I didn't even think twice about not going. It was a complete no brainer.

I agree with Pokey, it's something that has come to feeling this way over a long period of time. it's not a snap decision. I didn't wake up one day and decided to hate on Ed.

No offense to anyone, but I'm amazed at how many whiny bitches there are on this board. bounce.gif

"Ed ruined Live!... because the OTHER GROWN MEN had succumbed to his charms, they just liked watching him dance there all sexy like and gave in and recorded crappy albums they wanted nothing to do with, they had no balls so they let Ed run 'their' band."

"It's like watching my parents divorce... because a bunch of millionaire rock stars banging groupies every night and making music they love is a lot like a marriage crumbling, wrecking the lives of everyone involved."

"Bitch, bitch, bitch about Ed... All I do is bitch about Ed even though secretly I love his coffee, you know it baby!"
