How was that personal attack? I never said boo about any legal obligations. I simply stated that we're reduced to this unsettling debate yet again. My comments picked a nerve, but I didn't attack you. I said let's stop talking about it.

because it didn't pertain to my post's information

it only pertained to me

and it was perjorative

QUOTE(sh4rpz @ May 24 2010, 7:33 pm) *

Fair enough. It is true we don't know the legal implications (if any at all?) he is under. I like Ed - he has had a big impact on many of us, myself included - so hopefully, the majority of us mean him no disrespect - as no matter how much we may dislike his music, we can't forget the role he played in LIVE.

That doesn't mean we can't recognise and credit one or the other - so how's this: Even if they were obliged to mention Ed, if they really didn't want to, they could've scrapped the whole deal altogether, right? But they still went along with it - and for many of us, the fact that they've acknowledged, is respectful of a colleague and friend. Big ups for it.

Scrapped what whole deal? The newsletter? You need to learn about newsletters my friend. It is soooo worth it to send one out, even if they have to throw Ed in there.

Maybe if you knew what it felt like to be slandered the world over, you wouldn't necessarily use your airtime on promoting people who did it.

All I am saying, the internal dynamic of Live is none of our business. It's over, accept it. Move on please.

Just cause it was an attack doesn't mean i care. Sounds like a threat in there too now.

This thread is about the internal dynamic of the band, obviously.

No, that's what you read into it, you must care since you got upset with my words......no threat, simply if I wanted to verbally attack you, you'd see the difference with my words. I'm not even here making a debate. Simply commenting on why we are commenting on why TGF gave props to a theif. Which I said was classy.

I can see this is only going to end up going in circles. I doubt you know any much more about this than any one of us do - which means, this is all admittedly speculative.

I'm not going to get involved in a discussion with you about what should/shouldn't go into LIVE newsletters, nor about who/what should be mentioned - but what I will say, is that whoever sends it out is responsible for whatever is in said newsletter. In this case, TGF is - and I still maintain, it is not something they HAD to do - a good marketing move, but not something they HAD to do - the initial email sent out would've rattled the interested LIVE fan's universe already - and if that didn't, I doubt mentioning 'new projects' would mean d*ck.

LIVE fan. Got the newsletter. Read it. Wow Ed album. Wow TGF album. Classy move considering your friend allegedly screwed you over.

What's wrong with a little positivity?

Might have read into it in a way that suggest the possibility of a threat. Can't say it wasn't there.

Upset is a little over-dramatic there.

You've made plenty debate earlier, and that is what I commented on.

Since then, you've lead the conversation away starting by posting about me and not about what I had said.

Back on track then, all I wanted to say is that the legal obligations by TFG takes away from the idea that TFG had done any favors for Ed, or showed their appreciation to Ed. Even if they did, it would contradict everything the band has stood for in the past couple months in regards to Ed. That, or Ed and the band are cool with each other, and Chads posts were not true.

And I don't dislike TFG, I think they're classy and all. I just think this thread was off the mark, and alot of it was supported by you.

Sending follow up letters, especially one about an impromptu secret gig, certainly means something. I do know about newsletters, and there is no way that this letter did not make an impact on its audience.

Since it was sent, it was something worth doing, and I believe that putting Ed's name in there likely detracted the letters value for TFG, and that is probably how they see it so long as the bands fallout story is true.

We could use something similar to the facebook "like" button in here, for outtodry, with the habitual followup support.

I think if you attempt to mend ties, or have put something behind you, found your peace in whatever it is you're currently doing and have put the past behind you - it doesn't mean that everything you said previously is not true.

It just means that you see that point in your life as over - and perhaps you DON'T need that negative energy around, and it would be a great chance to move on.

Maybe I'm a positive thinker that way, and I would rather it be this and not that. I hear your argument - valid. Did not say once that it wasn't. I've presented mine - albeit, very few facts of what's actually happened because we just don't know, do we? The thread did not set out for people to perceive TGF as saints of some kind that you have to rush out and buy their shit...It was quotes and the comments and opinion, which is no way opinion of TGF or Ed.

I thought that was understood here?
