Again you fail to recognize or admit they made an announcement to address the bizarre rumors, of which most started here!!! Long before I signed up with an account to post!!!

A promo for Ed. TGF - that was a classy move. You guys are class acts in my book.

If they can support Ed's new album and site I'm willing to give it a try.

+1 to everything you said.

It's almost as if he imagines they don't exist. However, TGF whether positively or negatively, acknowledge the fact that he is/was part of their past legacy.

I mean, TGF didn't have to give Ed a mention at all - yet they did, mentioning his album by name and a release date. In the radio interview video 2 weeks or so ago, Ed's reaction was almost as if he'd never heard of TGF.

It was a fansoflive letter, they were probably contractually obliged to mention Ed on it. It wasn't likely to be out of the goodness of their heart.

And why should Ed consider giving a shout out to TFG when the other guys tried to ruin his name worldwide.

QUOTE(sh4rpz @ May 24 2010, 3:22 am) *

you make many valid points here - but considering this Facebook post was signed off as TGF, I doubt the dudes have any contractual obligation to mention Ed's work.

It can't be ruled out tho, so I'd have to concede that it is possible.

QUOTE(dangum @ May 24 2010, 3:55 am) *

This message was posted on their Facebook profile. There's no 'contractual obligation' to mention anybody...

I recieved this from fol@friendsoflive.com

Contract probable.

Perfectly stated 92.

Yeah right, they delved into lots of private issues except for proof to substantiate their claims. they're probably legally obliged, doesn't seem likely to be any other way.

QUOTE(Pokey @ May 24 2010, 1:24 am) *

I don't think you really understand what the term beating a dead horse means. If Chad Taylor posted a blog once a week on his dislike of Ed, over and over .. THAT is beating a dead horse. Posting a couple of blogs and mostly just being psyched about TGF's new music is hardly beating a dead horse.
Us here have beaten that horse to death, but it's been fun in a way too tongue.gif
CT tried to clear the air, CG made the odd pot shot and hasn't for quite some time. And whoever runs TGF's facebook has only ever responded to provoking by Ed's fans, not outright said anything negative without prior comment. I don't see how that can be considered an all out attack.

dead horse or not, doesn't matter, Chad would still be obviously hypocritical

Pokey, youre right, so, so right. TGF, didn't have to do anything. They are a very classy professional group of guys. Props to them for giving a shout out. No mention by Ed's camp on TGF is what I expected. Sad too, as keeping silent on the whole matter truly shows he is damn stubborn, too ashamed, or simply a fucking ass.

They are classy guys but TFG probably had to mention Ed.

The guys bashed Ed's name, so now you're saying Ed should go off and start mentioning TFG.

You have no idea what reasons Ed why should not be mentioning TFG.

Oh so I picked a nerve with you again on this. We don't know shite!!!!

Who cares. Why are we still beating this dead pile of steaming shit. I see more animosity on the part of Ed's fans. Let it go. Live is 'All Over You'.

no one asked him to 'give them a shout' or promote their music - did you actually watch that interview? He basically pretended his ex-band members, his friends, who he claims he has no issues with bla bla, don't exist, where as TGF have always made mention of Ed, positively and negatively.

everyone's entitled to their views on this. the few of us on here just feel it was a nice gesture on TGF's part to mention Ed and his website and solo album, that is all.

I doubt it was a contractual obligation to LIVE, perhaps in view of the backlash of the LAST fol newsletter email, it was decided including Ed would be the 'better' thing to do. I don't believe they HAD to.

Edit: Just read a few posts above mine...If you do something out of goodness, like I believe TGF have in including details of EK's album, you shouldn't expect the same in return. I don't think TGF expected any return or thanks from Ed. I can't speak for the guys, but I don't think they'd operate that way.

quit littering with your personal attacks.

what about the legal obligation idea, makes sense

In these forums, you're definitely the forerunner of the Ed smear campaign and the top TFG street team member. I actually think TFG is more likely to make a better CD than Ed. You'd never know, cause I'm not much of a poster. But in a ridiculous thread you're bound to be present, sometimes I feel like clearing the air.

It probably isn't a gesture at all, contracts are binding and they are probably obliged

Interview wise, you aren't considering the fact that he might not be allowed to go into details. He has kept neutral, he has recognized the situation a number of times.

Fair enough. It is true we don't know the legal implications (if any at all?) he is under. I like Ed - he has had a big impact on many of us, myself included - so hopefully, the majority of us mean him no disrespect - as no matter how much we may dislike his music, we can't forget the role he played in LIVE.

That doesn't mean we can't recognise and credit one or the other - so how's this: Even if they were obliged to mention Ed, if they really didn't want to, they could've scrapped the whole deal altogether, right? But they still went along with it - and for many of us, the fact that they've acknowledged, is respectful of a colleague and friend. Big ups for it.

How was that personal attack? I never said boo about any legal obligations. I simply stated that we're reduced to this unsettling debate yet again. My comments picked a nerve, but I didn't attack you. I said let's stop talking about it.

since you added on to this reply after I replied, I feel compelled to tell you. I am not smearing Ed, only my personal feelings on why he's cheated me personally for over 10 years (and others).....I supported time & time again only to get the Ed Show I only discuss this stuff here.
