This message was posted on their Facebook profile. There's no 'contractual obligation' to mention anybody...

That's settled then.

Where did this message come from? Is it a forum post or a newsletter?
If it came from the Live mailing list, Ed might have been mentioned in the newsletter due to contractual obligations. It was addressed to Live fans.
If it was a TFG newsletter, and TFG tried to plug Ed out of respect, then that is nice, but obviously makes Chad hypocritical in how he beat a dead horse over how much he severed professional ties from Ed. That may actually point towards Ed and the band not really having issues with each other.
If you hold the ideal that Ed and the rest of the band had a falling out, I think respect for Ed is not likely, and calling this a classy move is probably a misinterpretation. It is amazing how so many of you change your tune from boasting for months over C,C,P's complete hatred of Ed, to them now having professional respect for Ed and are willing to advertise his album.

No it wasn't.

I mean it was, he didn't use AlTeRnAtInG caps or anything, but the content wasn't.

Not going to ever have agreement on this subject.....good points made by both sides.......however, I see a vengenace in the pro Ed fan's side of the arguement....like you've been personally slighted by TGF....yet again!!

Ugh....this all makes me so TIRED!

I think there are sore hearts all round. No one breaks up after so many years together and feels nothing.

Aren't you all sick of making this a contest?

Or are you all just so bored you have nothing else to talk about?

Seriously....enough all ready.

What's amazing to me is that some people excuse Ed's behavior in the name of art and commerce.

Art & Commerce in the music industry always involve someone getting fucked over.

Certainly, commerce mixed with anything these days usually involves someone getting screwed. There's a lot that goes on that none of us ever know. But condoning it and supporting it as a consumer when you know better is another thing. It's amazing what people will do to feed their own ego, including consumers. As long as they get theirs (music, spiritual leadership, whatever you want to consume), then anything goes.

Well said. My guess is contractual obligation. As much as I can see, Ed owns just as much of Live as the other guys, so I doubt they can send a mailing to Live fans without mentioning Ed. And I feel like "for all the news that's true, the gracious few" is a bit of a stab at Ed. (deserved or not, I don't know, I wasn't there)

Actually the guys' own the band name and could employ a new lead singer under the name Live if they wanted to.

I think it shows that they are ready to move on with their professional career, and possibly that whatever lawsuit took place is now over.

Claiming that there were never any problems based on this is absurdly speculative. Especially in comparison to Ed saying that he doesn't follow the band at all, this is way classy.

Not sure why every topic has to become Ed vs. TGF. Maybe it's just human nature.

this one wasnt until nick questions TGF's motives..
minimally nick, you have to admit you "own" a piece of this divisiveness

I thought it was really classy of them to give Ed K a mention.

Rock on guys!

I thought it was a great move on their part. Keep the private stuff private and keep the music stuff public, if you get what I mean.
