That's really cool of TGF, to mention Ed's name and to give some info about what he is up to. Especially when you realise how mad they are about Ed, and how dissapointed.

The thing is that giving Ed a mention like that to me is classy and respectful, respect for someone theyve worked with for so long. Nick probably sees tgf keeping up with Ed as keeping tabs on him, but if Ed did the same and gave tgf a shout out, even with all the shit he's done I'd still respect that. He just doesn't even acknowledge them. Hell he's admitted to not even keeping up with them. It's sad, it'd just be nice to see both sides give a shout out to each other.

Pokey, youre right, so, so right. TGF, didn't have to do anything. They are a very classy professional group of guys. Props to them for giving a shout out. No mention by Ed's camp on TGF is what I expected. Sad too, as keeping silent on the whole matter truly shows he is damn stubborn, too ashamed, or simply a fucking ass.

Not sure why every topic has to become Ed vs. TGF. Maybe it's just human nature.

As for the Facebook post, very classy comment by whoever wrote it from TGF. Whether or not Live ever performs together again, I hope that they can reconcile their 30 year friendships. Hopefully time heals all wounds, because their seems to be a lot of animosity on both sides.

If creativity were really the only problem then a tour together would have been cool, TGF & Ed, probably the only way I'd get to see Ed again too tongue.gif.

Ed's fans would be too shocked to hear what real music sounds like.

Where did this message come from? Is it a forum post or a newsletter?

If it came from the Live mailing list, Ed might have been mentioned in the newsletter due to contractual obligations. It was addressed to Live fans.

If it was a TFG newsletter, and TFG tried to plug Ed out of respect, then that is nice, but obviously makes Chad hypocritical in how he beat a dead horse over how much he severed professional ties from Ed. That may actually point towards Ed and the band not really having issues with each other.

If you hold the ideal that Ed and the rest of the band had a falling out, I think respect for Ed is not likely, and calling this a classy move is probably a misinterpretation. It is amazing how so many of you change your tune from boasting for months over C,C,P's complete hatred of Ed, to them now having professional respect for Ed and are willing to advertise his album.

Well said. My guess is contractual obligation. As much as I can see, Ed owns just as much of Live as the other guys, so I doubt they can send a mailing to Live fans without mentioning Ed. And I feel like "for all the news that's true, the gracious few" is a bit of a stab at Ed. (deserved or not, I don't know, I wasn't there)

I do see that side of things too, hence why I thought it interesting. In all respect to TC though, he hasn't exactly beat a dead horse, he made one blog post and thats about it. It may seem like he has due to all the endless discussion about it here.

He made two long posts, not one. They included remarks about a 100 grand signing bonus and secret publishing rights, effectively sending a message to Lives fanbase around the world, in an attempt to sully Ed's reputation. He clearly said he could not ever see working with Ed again, nor be his friend. Regarding the discussion that followed with Live's fans and on all the media outlets, this is the consequence of Chad's letter, and he knew this before making the allegations. Gracey even lashed out at Ed, albeit way less maturely...but made it perfectly clear that he was trying to bash Ed and not have ties with him. The dead horse was beaten.

I don't think you really understand what the term beating a dead horse means. If Chad Taylor posted a blog once a week on his dislike of Ed, over and over .. THAT is beating a dead horse. Posting a couple of blogs and mostly just being psyched about TGF's new music is hardly beating a dead horse.
Us here have beaten that horse to death, but it's been fun in a way too tongue.gif
CT tried to clear the air, CG made the odd pot shot and hasn't for quite some time. And whoever runs TGF's facebook has only ever responded to provoking by Ed's fans, not outright said anything negative without prior comment. I don't see how that can be considered an all out attack.

+1 to everything you said.

It's almost as if he imagines they don't exist. However, TGF whether positively or negatively, acknowledge the fact that he is/was part of their past legacy.

I mean, TGF didn't have to give Ed a mention at all - yet they did, mentioning his album by name and a release date. In the radio interview video 2 weeks or so ago, Ed's reaction was almost as if he'd never heard of TGF.

you make many valid points here - but considering this Facebook post was signed off as TGF, I doubt the dudes have any contractual obligation to mention Ed's work.

It can't be ruled out tho, so I'd have to concede that it is possible.

This message was posted on their Facebook profile. There's no 'contractual obligation' to mention anybody...
