Not sure if this is a repost, but I thought this was interesting, and very VERY cool if indeed it's true. I saw this while I was listening to my LastFM channel (Xbox360 streaming music).

"......The band was even asked to perform on SNL where they performed their hits 'I Alone' and 'Selling The Drama' and to this day, they are the only band to receive a standing ovation at the party after the broadcast."

I remember reading that somewhere - and yet on the 25th anniversary music dvd, they didn't get their due.

It was true, I read it in Jay Mohr's book about SNL.

The ONLY band to get a standing ovation? That's a pretty sweet achievement.

Live's performances of Selling the Drama and I Alone were nothing out of the ordinary. I had heard the 'standing ovation' statement before so was really looking forward to seeing the show - In my opinion it was all a little bland.

I remember a small 1-minute vid of I Alone that was for dload at SOY I guess long time ago. I have never seen the full performance of STD though.

Anyway, SNL performance back in 1997 was spectacular. Both LJ and Heropsychodreamer were played. And I count those among the best performances by Live along with the worst trousers for Pat.

Here is what I have:

I've always thought that heropsychodreamer in the 97 SNL was a really amazing performance.

And pat.gif 's trousers omg.gif vomit.gif

I think I miss the whole decade, but the early half more so.

Those were all amazing performances, the energy on Heropsychodreamer is amazing. I've always loved the SNL performances, but this brought back so many good memories. The SS Tour was all I could think about, that might be the best summer I ever had.

DAMN!!!!! Now that's what I'm talking about. You could have powered the mid-west for a week with all of that energy! Those four guys, without a single doubt have GOT to be magicians. It's the only explanation.

Thanks for sharing +Ed+
