its wierd how as new albums get released the better the albums released previously look. Come on, only months ago the majority of everyone on here was bashing Birds Of Pray. It seems it takes a new album to come out for people to speak up about their real opinions of past albums. I have never been critical of an album which has just been released. IMHO SFBM will be ranked with the majority of you people on here in your top 3 favourite albums in 1-2 years time.

In saying all that my opinion on Birds of Pray is great and SFBM is also. Think Positive thumbsup.gif

After listening to SFBM as a whole, I must say, I'm beginning to appreciate BOP just a tad more. I still think BOP is their fifth worst album, but, eh, I pull the album out once in awile from my dusty shelf. Actually, it's not dusty. I'm just making the the point that I don't listen to BOP that much. whistle.gif

Think Negative. thumbsup.gif

True true true. Whatever is in the current context makes you think differently about previous stuff. Because I personally like Birds of Pray, I was very disinterested in SFBM after the first listens, because it is produced differently and the songs (on the whole) are softer. I have to say now that while I still think Birds is superior (I don't think that will ever change in my head), SFBM has its moments. Where Do We Go From Here would fit well on Birds of Pray and I have grown to really like that song.

The way Ed sings that bridge in WDWGFH reminds me a lot of old-school Ed. Kind of that jaw-clenched angsty voice we hardly hear anymore.

I didn't and don't dig it, but I saw BOP as a progression from V.

However, bad as they are as a whole for me, there are still times I listen to both because of a few songs.

BOP never did much for me. I really like Heaven, Life Marches On, Like I Do and Lighthouse but its the only album where there are only four outstanding tracks. Like I Do is one of the great rock tracks ever! SFBM is a better album overall if you want to compare. V is Live's most underrated albums and the rest are all excellent. I havent listened to MJ is ages. I think SFBM will in on for a while yet and then perhaps ill get back into MJ. Peace is Now smile.gif

Dan.

I don't like BOP or SFBM. I think they both suck compared to their old albums. Live is just lazy now, and Ed sounds like a woman. I like live alot, but I dont listen to the last few albums often. I'm still stuck with Lakini's Juice, The Dolphin's Cry, Run to The Water and stuff. I miss the awesome lyrics too.
