What I have never understood is why Live has never released such an amazing song. I personally view this non-release as one of Live's biggest mistakes. I am just wondering whether the band has ever explicitly talked about this song.

maybe the version I have is the only version of it
it sounds like itīs studio, but the quality is just like ehm... well it's not very very bad, but it's like itīs not a song you can release (I can send it to ya)
maybe there is just not a real good quality version shrug.gif

There is a high quality version...sort of...if you have the Mallrats DVD (not the special edition) in one of the deleted scenes a high quality version of Lift Me Up plays in the background for maybe 20-30 second...the is the best we ever got...

is there anyone that can get an mp3 of these 30 seconds up somewhere?... i've only heard the non mixed/non mastered version, would love to hear even a clip of the real deal.

I've wondered the same thing! It's one of their best songs ever!! I was hoping they would have put it on "Awake" but they put We Deal in Dreams on there instead sad.gif

Same here, I really had my fingers cross for Lift Me Up, I was rather let down by the fact they chose We Deal In Dreams (not that I'm not happy to have any b-side)...

Not that this really helps the quality issue...but I just remembered there is a live prefromance of Lift Me Up at Bootlegheaven under 1993 at Rutgers University. The quality isnt that great, but its better then say the full band version of Overcome...

There was an mp3 of Lift me up at “The church by the sea” website, which I think it does not exist anymore. It was a studio version (possibly unmixed), but the quality of sound was good enough to listen to the song and enjoy it. This website’s address appeared in the previous webpage of fansoflive.com - Dan might help us here.
