All I can say is those are wonderful lyrics, the one's that lynched me in junior high, listening to a bootleg taped copy of TDOAD on a walkman. All I can say is: sad, sad, sad.

There are other hits that aren't guitar-centric that Ed can use. It's either ignorant or arrogant to choose LJ and expect it to sound anywhere near good, especially with a band that's only practiced together for what, a month?

QUOTE(Pokey @ May 13 2010, 6:54 am) *

Which sounded like it would be about 7 people?

These people, and yourself, have a very, VERY low standard when it comes to music .. no wonder the music industry is in such a mess when people are happy to just be spoon fed trash and accept it as "fine".
God the amount of absolute QUALITY musicians out there, guys that would even put CT, CG and PD to shame is incredible, and you're happy with this??

You fail to forget that Nick HAS to say only positive things about Ed now. He'll get removed from the fanclub lead position if he doesn't.

I dont think its as horrible as people make it out to be but I do admit the song is missing something. Just not that edge it usually has. LJ is one of my all time favs so it does seem like this video is someone do a cover of it but still not horrible. I do think it would be intresting for TGF to also play this song in concert. Even with the different voice of Kevin I bet that song would kick ass from TGF! Maybe Ed needs to stick to songs like Heaven and Grace. Does anyone know if his band has played Face & Ghost yet? He did it alot during his solo tours. I would like to see that song in concert again!

.... I do like the new ending part with the higher pitch guitar riff. Kinda neat

TGF could probably get away with LJ as it's more well known for its guitar riffs then the vocals. However, I think TGF had the right idea when they said they were going to play the more obscure songs. KM's a great vocalist but Ed's voice is the one burned into so many people's memories on many Live songs.

There is another option, though, if TGF does choose to play some hits, whether they are Live ones or Candlebox ones. Live has always had great covers, perhaps they could give the same treatment to the hits they play? It doesn't have to be a radical change up, hell, on some songs a simple key change could do the trick. With just enough shuffling, though, the song would sound like a TGF song but with a familiar bend to it.

Maybe that's how I can stop being so frustrated by him, every time he makes an inane comment about the quality of the music, or Ed's fantastic character or whatever, I'll assume he wants to say the complete opposite but is contractually obligated not to!

Absolutely not. I've been a Live supporter for years. I'm not under contract with Ed, I just dig the music he makes. If I didn't like the music, I wouldn't have volunteered to help him out with his Facebook page.

Is it just the video or does the venue Ed is playing at seem like it has a capacity of about 20 people. That stage setup and the wall is right there looks as if its a stage a local bar or something. This may explain why its a sale out crowd! shrug.gif

It is not that bad....until the end. The high guitar parts could be good if we were hearing the louder rythm guitar. BUt it is really Ed and the others since the other members are not moving that much onstage. Of course the interactions between Ed and Chad T. were important for this song.

So now we have Ed and a cymbal! wacko.gif
