According to allaccess.com, Honest Man had 3 official radio station adds in the Active Rock format this week. Two of the stations were monitored(which means they matter for chart position), while one was not.

The exact stations, I'm not 100 percent sure about as of yet.

WOW. I listened to the rip Dan made after it was played on radio (last week). Now I listened to it for the first time again on MySpace, and wow! I'm even more impressed now. It's a really good song!

I knew I recently heard a similar riff to the one in Honest Man. And it's from Creed's Overcome. (coincidentally same title as a Live song)

Please don't turn this into a bashing of Creed and blah blah blah, or think I'm insinuating that the honest man lick was "borrowed" from Creed. Not at all, it happens all the time. I just knew I heard similar since I first heard Honest Man, and finally I figured it out and thought it was interesting. Heck I've written some guitar riffs only to notice them in other songs.

Also I will just say that Mark Tremonti is a beast of a guitarist and bring on the new Alter Bridge album YARRR!!

and again it's nothing but an observation so no bitching.

This song is awesome. Keep it up guys. Nice break down after the solo, with some cool drumming. Anyone know a nice place to check tour dates?

Only place is here so far:
Lower right. The Lancaster date has been here for 2 months, nothing on it though. Seems to be some kind of placeholder

I've seen Alter Bridge twice in concert. Myles Kennedy has an amazing voice, and Tremonti is insane.

Thanks to Dan who ripped it from myspace, i listedned to a complete version of Honest Man. The song is great and it reminds me a lot of early Live sound.

To me, TGF seems to resemble Live in the following ways: Their sound varies across songs, their sound is raw and their songs are very distinct from we can hear out there.

I finally got to listen to Honest Man. Brilliant stuff. I love it.

I couldn't help but smile and imagine Gracey beating the skins like a rented mule. Patrick standing their with his eyes closed, grooving with his bass in front of a stack of Marshalls. Taylor crafting those perfectly timed melodies and hand-selecting those notes and rythms from the creative ethosphere. Sean's got some chops and Martin's got some b*lls and and a lot of soul. To think, this is what Chad, Chad and Pat have had pent up inside of them for years. Man am I glad to be among those who get to enjoy it. For those who listen to Howard Stern, you'll get this reference - they are getting the poison out of their system! Ha ha.

Today, you hear new music and it usually sounds like a band or a performer trying to sound like something they think the listeners will like. They're aiming toward something out there. Trying to be liked. The music sounds like stuff you've heard already that was innovated by someone else. Or it sound like everything else that is popular, so that the band can cash in on whatever the current popular sound is. You can just hear it. The lack of authenticity.

When I listen to these tracks from TGF, I hear a group of 5 musicans that are pouring out the raw energy and creativity inside of them and are making the music that they want to create. They are not aiming for some external target. They are creating as artists and using what is within themselves - and between them with the synergy that comes from a good working band. And that really comes through loud and clear. And as a result, it is raw, innovative and fresh. It doesn't fit a mold. It sounds like music that should, and hopefully will, be eagerly consumed by music afficionados.
