Ed's voice sounds great.

I think his new single is a great song. The music industry and record sales seems random to me. What makes one good song do weell and another one not so much? I don't know. But Ed's Grace sounds like most of what I hear on pop rock radio, so there is probably no reason it shouldn't do well. And Ed has a good rock star persona and look.

But it makes me sick to watch this group of tools play I Alone with Ed. It's like being forced to watch my wife sleep with a homeless vagrant. I'd have a real hard time watching a concert with his new band if they play many Live songs.

Eugh idiot me...

found the band lineup at Eds website

For drummer Ramy Antoun, it’s always been about the rhythm. Born in Egypt, the son of a pianist and producer, he began playing when he was three, just after the family had moved to the United States. “I was banging on things in front of the TV, and my dad got me a little snare drum,” he recalls. “By the time I’d turned four he’d got me a little drum kit, and when I was seven I was playing in his band. I never took any lessons.”

He sometimes has a bigger kit.

What for?

Ed delivers there is no doubt his voice his in good shape...BUT can someone ask him why wasn't he singing I alone like this for the last 10 years? It is really like if he wanted to show the other boys that he can still rock. Grace is decent, but how can you rock on Everlasting Love or other soporific songs like we heard. The band was in an automatic pilot for 8-9 years as I can see now. Let's say after V. So sad.

Where can you find the interview?

Actually Ed was planning on releasing a solo album even before the Live thing got ugly. If Live stayed together, Ed's solo album still would have been coming out.

True. But I think there wouldnt have been such a hurry in forming a new band then. He probably would have toured 2 years solo/acoustic during the hiatus.

By day he "drums" for Ed, by night he takes care of the bodies.

As others have said, Ed's voice did sound pretty good in these songs, he didn't push it too much and it paid off. Not enough to save the songs though.

It is simple:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Money to promoters, money to radio stations, gifts to DJs, gifts to MTV, $$$$$$, $$$$$$$$$$$, $$$$$$$$$

That is the difference between a mediocre single and a bona fide hit.
