That was a pretty good interview, hehe.

You can listen it at the link I gave earlier, it starts at 8:12 and 40 seconds.

He is still saying that they broke up cos the music started to suffer from routine... blabla.... so, yeah, everything CT said is probably true, as far as anyone still doubted that.

Would it really be true that he doesn't follow anything that TGF is doing... they have been in a band for so long, I doubt he hasn't heard a few of their songs..

I don't think anyone that was in a band with someone so long could resist temptation to hear what the others are doing. Nothing wrong with that, it's being human and I know 100% that I'd be listening to what my former band members are doing.

You forget, we're talking about Eddie K here, so throw all logic out the window!

The thing that confuses me is him saying he wants a new vibe fresh start yet he's continuing to put out these same old lame pop-rock songs that he's been doing since BoP.
I guess you are right, throw all logic out the window lol gotta love da EK.

He wants a new fresh start, but he's marketing himself as "Eddie K from Live", and he's continuing to butcher the Live classics at every show. Some fresh start that is.

The drummer will kill someone within the next few years if he hasn't already, dude is one freaky mother fucker. who is a bad drummer.

haha so Ed says that they're all good and split due to needing a fresh perspective and all that .. if thats the case why wouldn't you follow and support your "friends" in their new venture? Why aren't they supporting you? Oh yeah, cos Ed's statement is full of shit.
The fact that he's completely contrdicting himself saying he wants a fresh outlook on his music and yet still relys so heavily on Live material is just moronic. I really commend TGF so far for not using Live or Candlebox's music as a selling point and also for saying they're gonna go for more obscure stuff in concert .. show's they really are wanting to put an emphisis on the new stuff. Ed isn't.
Nick seems to think TGF want to split the fanbase and use this to turn people away from Ed and generate more sales for themselves ... I still fail to see how a band that isn't trying to capitalise on past success like Ed has would care that much about sales.
His interviews and such where he blatantly distorts the truth are pretty sickening.

I don't buy that 'splitting the fan base' stuff either. At the end of the day, we will buy the music - and you can't kid fans.

TGF had a lot to risk by coming out with their side of the story, so I doubt that it's too far from what actually happened. Unless we're all a bit naive. I know I have 'felt' or seen a sincerity in CT, PD and CG comments and CT's blogs and concert posts around the BOP era on friendsoflive.com and you can see they were always passionate about the fans and it transcends into their music and presence on stage.

You always see the 3 of them well into their music on stage in a different zone almost, compared to Ed. Especially on stage - and you hear it in his lyrics post-2000 and see it in his rock-star persona and his general behavior.

Like CT has said already, thanks to Ed for his work on LIVE projects and he did give us some great albums in MJ, TC, SS and TDTH and I'll even go as far as saying I liked some stuff on V and BOP, but I wouldn't put it past Ed to have done what they say he has.

One thing is for sure, something he has done has deeply upset his closest 3 friends. Something they have deemed unforgivable.

It proves everything. Ed just states the same bullshit reasons over and over... because the story of CT is the truth. He doesn't have a single fucking reason to blame the break-up on anyone else than himself.

It doesn't come across as genuine, which speaks volumes really.

Anyone listened to the interview?

I loved how Giel (the DJ) showed Ed the Gracious Few Myspace page lol.gif . "Do you follow them?". "No, I'm not really.... ya know"

Also, Ed said: "It's good to hear fans say I returned to the mid-90ies of Live", after which Giel said: "Well, but The Gracious Few, they are doing now what you used to do with them in Live!" Hehe.

I liked the first bit of the interview. Too bad, the second half of the interview Ed seem to say a few weird things (like returing to the 90ies??) and saying that he wanted a fresh start and vibe as the reason for the break up. It's not true and he knows it.

gonna watch the performed songs now!

Where can you find the interview?

Actually Ed was planning on releasing a solo album even before the Live thing got ugly. If Live stayed together, Ed's solo album still would have been coming out.

Where can you find the interview?

1. http://giel.vara.nl/Uitzending-terugluisteren.457.0.html
2. Click on "GIEL! - 12 mei 2010"
3. Click on "8:00 - 9:00"
4. Fastforward to 12:40

I have ripped the interview and performances to mp3. I will upload them in the next day or so.
