Making this thread in this cathegory as really it concerns the whole band, previously known as Live.

I hate and detest the way people try to compare Ed's solo and TGF.

Some scream: Ed is poppy wanking-ass faggot.

Other go: TGF shovel shit with pseudo-old-school hard.

How the fuck can you compare two absolutely DIFFERENT music pieces, one of which being polished and groomed modern post-grunge and another one - raw and solid grungy hard?

No comparison can be made. Absolutely NO. And I am more than glad that to me both new ventures sound absolutely nothing like Live. Well, maybe Zion to some extent. But anyhoo.

TGF will not be the good band to back-up Everlasting love.

Ed's voice will not be good enough for 13.

Leave them alone. Keep clashing aboard, but without comparison.

hhmmmzz, now what's the use in this thread? uhoh.gif

I have no idea..

People are always going to compare them because of the common connection they have and coming from the same mould. It's inevitable. At least in the early stages.

That's what I really do mostly hate.

Just like saying; fook, TGF is the Led Zepp of modern-days.

No fucking way. There is no Led Zepp other than Led Zepp.

I'm not sure if anyone is saying TGF is the led zepp of modern day, that is a MASSIVE call, but you can certainly say they were influenced by led zepp.

haha I was thinking the same thing .. maybe he's just really slow at typing. Like my Dad (not zman, the real dad). He types only using 2 fingers and its just agonising. Yet he builds his own website and is really tech saavy, just cant type!

Then again I type using all my fingers on right hand and only my index finger of my left hand and am pretty fast .. i guess my other left hand fingers are uselss.

Didn't take too long to derail the topic there tongue.gif I hope everyone feels better now knowing about the typing habbits of my family haha

edit: he's still going! This is going to be epic. if he posts anything less than 3 chapters and a toilet break I'll be disappointed tongue.gif

I'll just say that Ed's music sucks camel cock in my opinion. The man can still sing, but the music itself is boring and sounds the exact same as everything else he's done for the past ten years. The lyrics are rehashed and stale and everybody except Nick knows it.

As for the LIVE- TGF comparison? That's just stupid. Different music altogether. Live's music was spiritual and anthemic and I'll always cherish the older stuff.

TGF's is throwback rock and way more based around guitar and drum work. Nick can whine all he fucking wants about how unoriginal it is, while listening to Ed's rehashed garbage that is as unoriginal as it gets. But fact is, and I listened to Alan Cross talk about this on his music show, is that it's virtually impossible to be original nowadays. So much music has been made, that you're bound to sound, and to be compared, to somebody else. To top it off, every single band out there has musical influences, that's a given. So how the fuck is your music not going to sound like somebody elses in some regard.

It just shows me how little Nick knows about music. His petty arguments are disgustingly infantile. Everything Ed does is gold, never mind the fact he sold out even his children for a small profit. Sold out his lifelong friends for money. Selling phone calls for money. Ripping off his zombie fans with dollar store jewelry for a hundred bucks. Not to mention the fact that he just uses everyone, including his fans, for personal gain. How people continue to support somebody like that is way beyond me.

I appreciate Ed for what he did early on with Live. But I'm thoroughly disgusted and disappointed with what this guy became. I can't support any human being who is that superficial and greedy.

Don't forget the stick figure drawing stage!

While we're making comparisons though .. I went and watched that White Discussion circa 1995 video that was posted in the media section the other day ... it blows my mind for a few reasons.

Watching them rock the fuck out, watching CT literally collapse on stage and then throw his guitar and drop and amp on it ... that is pure rock'n'roll, to think 10 years later they were playing The River ... now I know it's stated that bands "mature" and all that, but still. Just amazing how much changed.

Second point, Ed in the video is skipping around the stage, SKIPPING, waving his arms about, dancing ... in text it sounds the same as what he does right now. But for some reason back then with credibility he made it look cool! It's amazing what a bit of credibility did ... if someone back then that didn't much know the band made the comment "wtf is that pansy doing skipping around the stage like that?" .. my first reaction would be "Dude, this pansy will knock you the fuck out with his musical credibility, listen to their new album Throwing Copper, if the man who sings on the song "stage" wants to skip for a bit, then the man skips for a bit and has some fun".

When someone makes the same comment circa 2010, I just .. have no way to reply in his defence.
