So I was just thinking, TGF posted that tweet awhile back about TGF and Powderfinger teaming up, and then straight away had it taken down ... now that it's come to light that Powderfinger have announced their split for later this year that it was why it happend? It makes perfect sense, TGF withdraw completely at Powderfinger's request before they broke the news? Shame really, would have been such an awesome duo.

God i'm fucking loving Honest Man, Tredecim and Appetite are definitely good songs, but Honest Man just hits it for 6 for me! (or hits a home run for our American friends tongue.gif )

In my opinion, I don't think there was ever any intention for the two bands to tour. It was just a misinterpretation of an enthusiastic TGF comment.

A couple of weeks ago TGF posted on their Facebook wall a request for Australians to contact tour promoter Michael Coppel ( http://www.coppel.com.au ) so it looks like we are still in the early stages of getting TGF to Australia...

I agree Eam's. Honest man, while not the best song on the album, really grabs me too. Great song.

Heard it in its entirety first. Before it was mastered. It is very very good from start to finish. No filler whatsoever really.

The last song on the sampler reminds me SOOO MUCH of something The Beatles would have done for some reason. Like I said, from start to finish, this album is really good. Some of it is lost on me obviously, but I can remember that there wasn't anything I didn't like.

A few songs stood out big time, Honest Man being one of them. One song, the song I liked best, is in the sampler. Hard as fuck, fast paced bassline. Song reminded me of early I Mother Earth. Pat is very prominent in this song. Easily my favorite on the album. Overall, just some well made rock music.

In my opinion, Martin is fantastic on this record. While maybe only an average vocalist, his versatility shines on this album. He sounds nothing on Tredecim as he does on Apetite or Honest Man. On the Beatles type tune, he sounds completely different again. As much as i like some of the riffs on this album, Martin is definately the biggest piece to the puzzle. I'm not sure there is any other singer today who could've done better. His voice is aggressive, yet controlled. Soft, yet hard when it needs to be.

I know knick the prick dick licker will go on about how much he can't understand Honest Man and his voice. But when I listen? I can understand almost every single word he sings straight off. Maybe he needs to clean Ed's jizz out of his ears.

Wow, if it really is like that, I personally am gonna love this record. While not a fan of Martin's voice AT ALL, I do love what he does on the leaked songs.

BTW, Luke, the last song, you mean the last on the demo record? If so, it could be the one called Song, where he sings: I am a song or smth like that, if so, yet again, it completely matches my own thoughts of it, I have for sure not heard a bit of it though.

Trust me, anyone who likes what they've heard so far? Is going to love the rest. Simply because it gets no worse. Every song is pretty good in its own right. nothing spectacular, just good solid rock from start to finish.

This is an album you can just put on and never have to worry about skipping anything. Just a few tracks you want to play again before you continue on with the rest.

God bless you for your words, dear fella! Now the waiting will become even more unbareable nod.gif

Funny how things switch in no time. Just a couple of weeks ago I was eagerly expecting Ed's album and spitting towards TGF's tunes (becauseof the vocal mostly)... no it is vice versa...

Still not taking sides and waiting for 2 records.

So the next logical question that someone has to ask is how you got to hear it?? You wernt one of the ones that found them when they were recording it were you?

No i wasn't. But I'm certainly not going to publicly announce how i got to hear them neither. That would be as offensive as somebody leaking the music itself. I respect my friends way too much to be that stupid.

I respect the band even more. I could have got a copy of the unmastered music if I'd wanted and easily still could. But I'd rather not due to the temptation of sharing. That's how the music ends up getting leaked and I'm simply against that to say the least.

Pat, Chad and Chad have meant a lot to my life, to my well being and to who I have become as a man. I'd never want to do anything to hurt any of them. So when I was offered, I said no. Hearing it was a huge gift in itself. I'll gladly wait to buy the album like everyone else to hear it again.

You know the funny thing is, in a way I can empathise with Nick ... I've never been one for supporting bands. and by that I mean, getting the word out and helping promote them. I'm still a believer in buying the albums that deserve to be bought and trying to introduce them to my friends. But most bands I feel really passionate about are already established and don't need promotion. The only other new band is based in the UK and don't really have much to offer in Australia yet which sucks, hopefully soon. (Check them out guys, Doll and the Kicks tongue.gif )

But TGF are really making me want to actually support and promote them when Honest Man hits Australia. The way they've been communicating with their fans and encouraging support hands on I find actually pretty endearing and the music is really getting good ... I had caution over Kevin's vocals because I wasn't sold on them with Candlebox, still not 100% sure I'll like them on every TGF song, but so far so good... it's all just coming together. So I think I'm going to make a real effort to promote. I used to write quite regularly for a Melbourne music magazine called Beat, haven't for awhile and they've since changed editors, but I might try my luck in getting something in there when the time is right.
Either way, just listening to Honest Man, Tredecim and Appetite back to back .. really making me want to jump on board. smile.gif
