No noticable drop offs?

wow ... that was absolutely terrible, I wish this new band would stay away from Live songs.

I concur wholeheartedly! That was horrible.

Where's the plexiglass that once surrounded Chad Gracey? His replacement is a very average drummer.

His kit just looks like a toy kit compared to CG's ... just doesnt have the power nor energy, it only has the voice which isn't enough in this case.

No joke I think this 15 yr old kid and band has out done them:

It sounds totally fine to me personally. The crowd in Belgium seemed to really dig the performance as well. Is it different, maybe a bit, but it is still a great concert song.

Because you only hear the voice, Nick. The band Eddie has surrounded himself with is average at best. Sad. This used to be an artist I respected, but music is no longer art for Eddie, it's commerce.

It's a power song, done by a pop band .. terrible. I honestly can't believe you say "maybe a bit" ... you really do hear music different to the rest of us. I think they should stick to songs better suited to them, borrow more from the SFBM and BOP eras.

I'm not a musician, so I hear music the same way that people in the general population do. If you looked at the fans on that youtube video, they seemed really into the song. General folks won't notice much of a difference.

The alcohol was probably flowing for a lot of those fans too ... is that what this has come to, hoping people won't notice much of a difference? Rather than actually getting a decent band together, or tackling more appropriate songs? etc..

It seems like a good rock band to me.

Too true. Simplification is hardly a good way out in this case.

When I spin Zion, for instance (which I def. enjoy pretty much), I dig the melody, even some lyrics, but... instruments...

Everything seems to be in its place.. They sound well. WELL. They do not sound PERFECT. They are fucking SO FLAT. A nice drumline is played like a drumline, not like the instrument can breathe, the way CG does it.

Flat. Yes, it is the best word to explain what I feel. Simple. Flat. Soulless.

too bad

And here are some others I recorded (well, part of the songs)

The Distance - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDrwa7yIN8A
Just in Time - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNhgIVfPwns
The Great Beyond - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXM_vqpdrwk
Overcome Full Band - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmL6ERtR53U

Thanks for the info and the links.

Overcome on the V album sucked. I've hated the song since I first heard it. (The full band version by Live was decent but need more ummph!)

Let me be the first to say, Ed will be looking for work in Vegas within a year or two. He's done as a musician. His plan is uber fail

Which I'm sure he will! Milking it for all it's worth, cheapening his entire legacy no.gif
