Not even sure about "doing well" .. but he will still probably outsell .. eh .. who knows. Not to sound like Nick, but Australia was pretty Live loving, Ed sold out 2 shows in Melbourne of about 1000 people at each, and that surprised me. I'm more interested as to how TGF do market themselves here for a tour.

I wouldn't mind seeing them at a smaller venue though, i doubt they'd be small enough for somewhere like Ding Dong lounge in Melbourne, but that'd be wicked, seeing such a quality band in such an intimate setting. Seeing The Melvins there was surreal. Still I hope they do well enough to see out The Forum like Ed did ... best venue in Melbourne ... they could get more than Ed did too because his show was all seated so that restricted the space. They could probably do 1500 in there I'd say.

Well Ed might outsell cause that is his objective. To make music that sells, that's what he's been trying to do for 10 years. (even though the opposite happened). Meh I really don't care who outsells who. As long as TGF music kicks ass the way it has so far I am happy. If Ed's music kicked my ass like that I'd be really happy but it doesn't look that way. His music is just not for me.

My guess is it'll end up fairly close though it's really dependent on how things fall here in the states. Ed's going to do well on the adult alternative stations, I think, as will TGF on rock stations. It just depends on if people get excited enough to buy the CDs, or if their songs get lost in the shuffle.

I'm more interested to see how TGF sells, but I've no opinion on who I'd "prefer" to sell most or anything.

I can certainly see unintentional Multiplatinum diamonds for TGF. The music is very strong.
