Just listened to Trecidem for the second time. It would a horrible single. The verses are so sleepy, the chorus is dull and repetitive. The song is painful to listen to.

Of the 3 songs I've heard, Appetite is the best, but that is not saying much.

Everytime I go out and come back there is more and more venom from said Administrator. Keep bashing it. Lets get everyone fired up.................More and more people are liking it. People are awaking from their rock n roll slumber and will be heard from.

Listen I get it Nick, no offense, you happened onto Live when they were transitioning to the trash bin. You missed out on when they were really a band. They fit the gay Vertical Horizon sounding crap AC that you like to listen too. I think you're hurt that they're all but finished now.

great song... amazing!

it's what I love about rock music - it's what I loved about music LIVE recorded in the 90's...

it has that Metallica-ish darkness and hardness and that almost contrasts with a sort of tone that reminds me of something like Pillar of Davidson, where no matter how many times you hear it, it has an almost epic-ness about it.

solid so far from TGF. looking forward to the full album.

I'll agree that it's certainly not a radio single but calling it painful to listen to? Seriously?

Humor me, what's your top five Live songs?

I don't know, it's getting such a good response that it may be a good radio single, rock radio that is. Doesn't need to fit the 3 minute pop single format.

Even on rock radio a song needs an instantly catchy, memorable hook. Tredecim does not have this. That's not to say it's not a great song, it's phenomenal and deserving of all the praise it's received, the band out did themselves with it. However it takes a while to get ramped up, and unfortunately thirty seconds is too much patience to ask of radio listeners who are spinning the dial trying to find something to listen to.

Think of it this way: when you heard this song play on the sampler was your response "oh hell yea I have to hear the rest of that song!" or was it something less enthusiastic? For me this song kind of got lost in the shuffle on the sampler. That's how it'd be heard by the folk flipping through radio stations too, I believe, unlike say Honest Man which has a very catchy chorus and attention grabbing guitar line.

I suppose but I never thought of most Tool songs as instantly catchy or hooky either. I remember when I heard Staind's "It's been a while" and thought it was an odd radio single.

I think from listening to the sampler a zillion times, The song which is Guilty Fever, (track 2's lyrics seem to indicate this), is catchy, hard guitar and driving bass.....Kevin's lines leave me wanting more on this one. Can't wait for the whole record.

It's not a hardline rule and it was remiss of me to paint it as such, though nothing these days is a hard and fast rule, everything has exceptions. Staind and Tool are notable exceptions, particularly Staind who made an art out of getting radio hits out of dreary psuedo-emo ballads. It can be done, I just don't think Tredecim is the song to do it.

Yea I think I know which one you're talking about. If I remember right that track was the second most well liked behind Honest Man from the sampler.

Yeah that one was one of the Twitter samples from kevin martin I think around late last year. Anyway, I think we're going to hear a variety of styles on this baby. All good in my book.
