So, another TDTH thread here got me thinking of making this thread. Maybe something like this already exsisted here ( I do not recall... but in the last 7 years of me posting here... most probably)... but.. here goes.

Everyone has a recording in his life without which he can not imagine his own exsistance.

So, to get things started, I ask you all to post 5 albums you can not live without. As simple as that.

Let me get it started.

This list has been stable since 2002. Only because The Shining was released then really lol.gif As you see, 3 out of 5 albums come from the 90s, two of them from 99 (my fave year in terms of music - loadsa tremendous albums were released), one of them MUST HAVE BEEN out in the 90s (MV) and one of them SOUNDS like the 90s laugh.gif

Expecting yer lists, fella posters!

I think so .. Herzeleid is good, but suffers from poor production I think .. Till also hadn't learnt to sing on that one yet so it got a bit hard on the ears at times for me. Whilst the songs themselves are great, it was just the execution that let Herzeleid down.
LIFAD just sounds so fluent, they sound more like a band on that album than a machine previously, it's more "rocking" than previous. Songs like Frühling In Paris, Waidmanns Heil, Wiener Blut... just masterpieces. However I'll admit this album does have Mutter hot on its tail.

I must admit just outside of my top 5 or which could take the 5th spot on any given day would be SS or TC.

I am too lazy to post pictures.

1. Live - Throwing Copper
2. Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
3. Matthew Good - Hospital Music
4. Candlebox - Self-titled
5. Amanda Palmer - Who Killed Amanda Palmer?

Two of those are recent and with good reason, they easily supplanted anything else.

So this is very difficult cause music is a such a huge part of my life where pretty much every album I own could have the "can't live without" title. But for the sake of choosing 5, here are in no particular order ones that came to my mind at this moment.

It's a progressive rock/metal band from Poland. Similar to Porcupine Tree. Check em out on their myspace and youtube. thumbsup.gif

This is hard man! Only five.... not possible. Well, in sort of order:

1. The Beatles - Anthology (HA! I cheated, but you can't call me on it)
2. Live - Throwing Copper
3. The Who - Who's Next
4. KISS - Alive II
5. Nirvana - In Utero

I have tons of 60s stuff that I love, but I picked this list with the criterion of wanting to listen to the whole album without skipping a song. (And I could have added Mental Jewellery, because it really belongs on that list).
Otherwise I would have included Big Brother and the Holding Company - Cheap Thrills; Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow; Hendrix - Axis Bold as Love and Electric Ladyland; Cream - Wheels of Fire; The Doors - The Doors and Strange Days; The Who - The Who Sell Out, My Generation, Tommy; Janis Joplin - I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!; The Animals - Animal Tracks (US version), Most of the Animals; etc.
