Its been customary for me to wait in anticipation of a Live tourdate at Starland Ballroom. I saw their last show there, and was there for all previous ones.

So, what is my reaction to the Starland date for EK? no.gif no interest whatsoever

I was unnerved to see it being promoted on FB as Ed playing all the LIVE songs (i dont know if thats EK or Starland marketing..)

But i cant wait to see TGF and hope they play in the area..

I don't want to go see Ed and the Live cover band, but I would do it if the tickets were under $20. From the looks of it I doubt they will be.

And I don't know who is marketing Ed that way, but somewhere along the line he would be approving it. It would be strange to see it NOT marketed that way, but it is still disgusting.

I don't know if I would go see Ed or TGF at Starland. I have a lot of good memories of Live concerts at Starland. I wouldn't want to ruin them. smile.gif

Well....maybe I would see TGF if they play there.

The only reason I saw LIVE post 2000 was because of the other guys. If I wanted to pay money to see some shiteating flamer prance around on stage after taking more ecstasy than a fag draped in glowsticks, I'd go see a fucking chip n dales show. Now that it's just the homo with a backing band chock full of Dallas local band losers, I couldn't be paid enough money to go.

why? If I'm not digging Ed's stuff and went and saw him anyways why would that be smart? I saw Ed on the acoustic tour for something different. But zero interest in a "full ROCK band show". TGF I'll be front row for.

If I had to choose, I would see TGF for the sake of a totally new sound and direction by the band, while on the other hand I did see Ed K solo in Philly 2009 and with Art and Ms. Nash at the Sherman 2009 and therefore my reasoning

its not about sides..

1. i dont care for any of ed's new material- i find them to be a major snooze fest.. not just musically, but lyrically

2. i dont want to hear him play LIVE songs with a band thats NOT THE BAND.

simply put, its about what i want to spend my hard cold cash on..

did all the drama over the breakup speed up my realization of reason #1-- absolutely.. i keep hoping to hear something that will make me go yahoo.gif but all i get is eh.gif

zman, i saw ed doing his acoustic thing at Maxwell last spring and it was a pretty cool experience.. so i see where you are coming from..

Let me clarify the poll question then- for those who havent yet answered.. the context for my post was Ed w/his band playing at Starland Ballroom. So i'm talking Ed + live band and/or TGF

I'm not anywhere near their respective tours so I didn't vote. If both were in town, I'd be more inclined to see Ed as I'd know half of the material, not that I like the idea of rocking out to I Alone with someone else behind the kit. I recon TGF would put on a better show though. Just not sure I'm too into their stuff just yet

Well after listening to Ed's new songs (esp. the words) I am def. not seeing him at Starland. I am not into Christian music. I can't wait until TGF comes to my area! smile.gif

Probably neither. Don't care enough about TGF's music to be in at a show with them and their fans. Then there's Ed, and going to see him would probably be a bit embarrasing and awkward.
