Have you ever seen Kevin Martin on stage? He goes totally limp wristed throughout most of the songs. It is really weird.

Nick, I really do respect you for keeping this forum alive. You've kept the beat going for fans of this band, especially since SOY shut down.

But dude, you really have to wake up and smell the coffee. You like Ed's new music, that's fine. You don't like TGF's and that's fine too. But it's getting really tired and petty that you keep coming around, taking senseless jabs at the new single. You don't like the music and that's fine. Some people like softer, more melodic type music and that really is fine too.

But some of the suff you've said is utterly ridiculous. Saying that this is 80's hair metal music? Dude, it couldn't be any further from that genre of music. I think you just need to face some facts and let it go.

Because fact is, Live lost MILLIONS and MILLIONS of fans after TDTH. Ed caused this band to become a laughing stock. It is FACT that ED took over the sole responsibility for writing V and everything after and it is FACT that al of those albums failed miserably to say the least. I don't like any of the music after that point and neither did MILLIONS of people who bought their music previously. Droves and droves of hardcore fans deserted this band due to Ed's bullshit. I'm not saying that anything Taylor siad was true for sure but I can tell you one thing with 100% surety.

The riff between the TGF crew and Ed had been simmering for a long LONG time. For over 8 years. The creative differences have been a sore spot for about the same length of time and not by coincidence. So I don't blame the split on Ed anymore at all. It was going to happen regardless of whether this publishing contract crap happened or not. That is pure fact and not speculation. Even the moms of a few of the band members were sick and tired of Ed playing god over this band and they truly have a bitter and lasting dislike of him.

Live will not be reuniting period. It's over...I'm pretty much willing to bet my house and my life on it.

Liverocks77 is a voice of truth. Unfortunatly I think everything you said will fall on deaf ears. Nick will blame Live's decline on poor promotion or some bullshit. Saying that Live was dealt a bad hand when it came to getting the music out there and heard. I'm pretty sure he's used that argument before.

That might be a good argument for a band that hasn't started out yet as to why they haven't lit the world on fire when there is nothing wrong with their material. But Live already had it all, like you said Luke, they had it all and they pissed it away.

Anyhoo, outtodry will probably get angry at this thread being used for non Honest Man talk tongue.gif
Oh and Luke, whatever PM you sent me over on SOY I can't read, every time I go to open it I get some syntax error so if you wanna resend it here I can read it smile.gif

As for this new single Honest man?? Pretty well done but not by any means the best material on the album. Maybe that's subjective, but I think there's better.

Good choice for a single I think though. The song is relevant and the guitar riff is simple but quite catch. The solo, although too short, fits well with this song and the bridge is well done too.

People are either going to love the vocals or hate them. I think they're distinct and I like them. But they may not be everyones cup of tea. One thing is for sure, the changes in his voice throughout this album really show me how diverse his vocals have become. One song, which I won't name, he sounds exactly like the singer from Placebo. Then on another a little like Plant and on another reminds me a little of Rod stewart with some harder edge.

This single will work in my opinion. It's not a great song but it's good.

Nick, you may prefer softer music, but that doesn't make this music bad. It just means you don't like it. From your taste, that's really not saying much in my opinion. I just think you need to stay out and quit taking immature jabs at the music. You are the administrator here and you sound like a 9 year old kid. Not even trying to be offensive towards you at all dude. Just grow up and do your job, both as admin and as a man. Coming in here with your nonsense is utterly sad and pathetic.

There you go again revealing your lack of musical knowledge. If you think that is weird you simply haven't been to enough concerts.

^ This x 1000

The passive-aggressive hatred in all Nick's post about TGF is reaching absurd levels. Makes it difficult to reads these forums at times, just because of the sheer ridiculousness of some of things he says. And good luck trying to debate him on any matter, because Ed is apparently master of his universe.

I mean, I can say crazy, ridiculous things too:

Grace sounds like Ed got help with the lyrics from his daughters, and the overall tone of the song makes it sound like something you'd hear at K-mart (even Wal-Mart is too good for this song).

I just checked all access, and Honest Man was officially added to one station playlist this week. Not entirely sure which station, but it was in the Active Rock format.

And obviously your unwavering fanboyism has clouded any objective discussion with you. You need to expose yourself to A LOT more and diverse music before you can make the comments you have been making lately.

Other than Live, other artists that I really enjoy are:

Better Than Ezra, Elton John, Seal, Vertical Horizon, Train, Fuel, Incubus etc. I am a primarily light rock guy with a small mix of harder rock thrown in, but really enjoy songs were I can actually understand the lyrics. I never liked very hard rock, and that is why I don't like TGF.

It is simple as that.

There you go. You don't like it and that is fine. Then stop coming in to TGF threads and shitting on it. It truly is as simple as that.

Everyone knows you're still bitter that the band broke up and you chose to blame the 3 guys. Once again, let it go.

Live breaking up doesn't really affect me anymore. Ed is touring around with basically the entire Live catalogue, his brother Adam, and three very talented musicians. The last year of Live was painful to watch on stage anyway. You could tell the guys hated each other.

The Open Wings Broken Strings tours are also amazing, and Jen Lowe adds a lot of Ed's solo show. The closing song with Ed, Art Alexakis, and Leigh Nash is always really entertaining as well.

I'll miss the Chad, Chad, and Pat. Things will be different on stage, but at least the guys are happy.
