QUOTE(Costakoui @ May 4 2010, 3:01 am) *

I really do not understand what some people are saying here. They are bitching because the song is not….. what really? The music is Live to the core. If the song was performed by Ed we would possibly say “what a great comeback”. The song is so distinct that it will possibly have either lovers or haters. Lakini’s Juice was not a radio single and it was a love it or hate it song simply because it was so different and broke the status quo in the radio rock music at the time. Honest Man is doing the same thing but it may never be popular simply because TGF is unknown. If Throwing Copper did not precede Lakini’s Juice the song would go unnoticed.

If they get anywhere near decent airplay with this song they'll get a strong following of fans. It fits too well with the times to go unnoticed. It's a decidedly grunge-y single and that alone should win them some converts amongst folk like me who grew up with that sound and still have a mighty collection of CDs from 1991-1997 that get regular spins in the CD player. The topical lyrics are just icing on the cake.

Hopefully they'll allow their concerts to be recorded and boot'd as I think that's where they're going to really win people over. Both Appetite and Honest Man sound like they'd be better concert tracks then radio tracks anyways, and that's before you add in any extended break-downs and solos.

Candlebox always encourages fans to record and trade as long as no tapes were sold, so I'd be surprised if TGF isn't the same way.

Ah man, it is always amazing what some aggressive vocals and creative input can do for a song.

No kidding. I listened to "Believe" again yesterday when I posted the link and man, I just cringed. Those lyrics were really, really awful.

Have you ever seen Kevin Martin on stage? He goes totally limp wristed throughout most of the songs. It is really weird.

I'll admit, he's not got the most compelling stage pressence, but some people can pull it off .. you're talking to a Morrissey fan here. Still .. it's better than Ed's little gyrations and hip thrusts, ass wiggles and such.
