Grace may be. It is probably the most suited for radio.

Honest Man does not sound like a radio single. If there were songs way better than it on the album, they should have picked those songs to expose the masses to their new sound.

It doesn't sound like a POP radio single, which is way it is being marketed to ROCK stations. I know that is hard to believe since it has been over two albums since Live put out an actual rock single.

This is the song that they wanted to represent them, clearly it is what they wanted to "expose the masses" to.

Also, I imagine ALL the Eddie K songs will be suitable for pop radio.

In my opinion, the song they chose to represent them is a horrible radio single that sounds like it should have been released in 1982.

Ed is definitely more Pop/Rock. I'm not sure how it will do chartwise, but at least it has a hook and sounds like it belongs on modern radio.

????

I'm sorry, that just makes no sense whatsoever. This is what was popular in 1982:

http://www.tunecharts.com/?1980s-Music:1982-Music-Charts

For the record, the less it sounds like modern rock the better. Modern rock is for the most part derivative shit, as evidenced by the garbage I had to listen to just to hear the song in the first place.

You sent the Pop chart. I bet Honest Man would have fit in nicely on the rock chart.

Thanks for understanding.

So now you are trying to contradict yourself? Hmmmm

Also, yesterday I went to see Recoil on their first tour. That would have been nice for you, Nick, to do also.

Cleans the brain in the run of 75 minutes.

Sorry for offtopping.

And yes, each day I am digging TFC's posts more and more.

My guess is it's the single because it's lyrics relate to the situation facing many people today. Not to mention it's got a strong riff and a great solo; very rock-radio ready. KM's voice helps it stand apart from the other songs across the airwaves though the vocals do seem to be a tad polarizing. I'm not terribly concerned with whether it hits number 1 or what have you, I think TGF is going to be more of a concert band then a radio band anyways.

Hopefully 93x plays the song again tonight. The incomplete capture has been playing non stop on my iPod all weekend and I've yet to tire of it. rockin.gif

Sweet! Now we just need the radio station to play it. The fact that they don't have it listed in the cage match part of their website yet makes me a bit suspicious.

They didn't separate rock and pop at the time, and nearly all of the popular rock bands of that year are represented on that chart.

But, since you insist:

http://www.rockonthenet.com/archive/1982/top100.htm

http://www.radiohitlist.com/KROQ/KROQ-1982.htm

Yes you are right, "Honest Man" totally sounds like Foreigner, Journey, the Cars, Joan Jett, etc. I can totally see the resemblance. omg.gif

It's so refreshing to see that not everyone suckles on the teets of Ed and his soft rock/adult His hijacking of this band started with TDTH. The album had some great tracks, but the tour was really when I started to see him change. That's when we were bombarded with the high pitched falsettos that would ruin the classics, the weird dancing, and the stupid antics on stage.

And once again, I have to say, if the other members of the band didn't like watching him dance around shirtless, singing his high pitched falsetto, for OVER A DECADE, why did they stick around? They could have left the band at any time.
