It's growing on me as I digest it all, but I'm still not crazy about it. Lyrics are fine, though. Suitable ultra-relatable nothingness.

That's cool. I have heard through the grapevine that there are way better songs.

Sweet. Well, kind of. They choose this as the lead single, so if there are way better tracks, then what does it all mean?

Not sure. I do think it has to do with the story it tells (the down economy and what it's caused to the working man)....plus I do think there is a hidden meaning (as this was an unreleased Live tune only played in concert).

It could mean that it is the most radio friendly track, which from what we've heard so far I'd probably agree with, although "Guilty Fever" is really catchy.

Then why are they releasing this as their first single?

Nick, please see my opinion on why. Above FRC's post.

I agree that Guilty Fever is even more catchy. I can't get the sampler lyric out of my head. The heavy riff line is very original.

Typically the first single isn't the best song on an album, it is just the most suitable for radio. Don't let logic get in the way of your criticism though.

if anyone doesn't think the band is not trying to have a little gamesmanship with all this, then we're not thinking clearly.

Ya, why do people assume and expect a single to always be the best song from an album. Saying that, what the hell is best again? It's music. It's subjective. One's garbage is another person's treasure.

Again, cause maybe THEY thought this would be a good single? Who's to say what song is best? It was their choice for reasons none of us know. Maybe they think all the songs are worthy of being a single. Maybe they randomly chose the song.
Maybe they don't give as much fuck about a single being that important the way you do. Personally I buy albums to listen to as a whole and rarely do I care for how the single does on radio. If it fits well within the album I'm happy. But that's me. You truly missed the point of what music is about. Yes yes, you know what you like. Then stop shitting on and asking dumb flamebaiting questions about music that you obviously don't like.

Grace may be. It is probably the most suited for radio.

Honest Man does not sound like a radio single. If there were songs way better than it on the album, they should have picked those songs to expose the masses to their new sound.
