I don't think OTD was asking that because of the one sentence review of the song, he was asking it because the rest of the post was very much about Ed and TGF. Nevermind that both OTD and Jim have been members of the Live community for a long time, I doubt OTD would have asked otherwise. Then again, you weren't even around when Live Web was open were you? Hell, Jim moved the post over gladly and acknowledged that it was a good decision!

My original post was about Ed and TGF and the breakup of Live. I was asked to move it to the thread in the "Live Central" part of the forums, and so I did. But when I did that I changed the original post to be my opinion of "Honest Man"

the guy gave his opinion on Honest Man, saying the song was okay. Just because it wasn't glowing, it was asked to be moved to another section of the board. Plus the fact that OutToDry isn't a moderator and really has no right to ask someone to move their post.

I agree with Funky in that maybe a mod for the TGF forum is a good idea. outtodry would be the obvious choice as he is their biggest supporter. Or Dan because he's pretty much completely on the level and is proven to be fair. Hell I'd do it myself but I don't think you'd like that too much

Yes, I am aware that this is "Believe 2.0". I should have been more clear. What I really meant was that I wish this was a Live song, from an upcoming Live album. The fact that is started out as a Live song makes me wish this even more, it's not like I wish every TGF song was a Live song. And if this was a Live song, and if it was also going to be on a Live album I would have very high hopes for that album (if this was a new Live single I would go buy that album the day it came out...which is something I haven't done for a Live album since TDTH). This is all just wishful thinking, of course.

That is cool, I just wanted to make sure! When I read your comment my first thought was "well, that is kinda what Ed did with it."

I think we'd all agree that things had gone differently after TDTH, and that is coming from someone who is really excited about TGF (huge Live and Candlebox fan since the early 90s). I wish that this collaboration could have happened without Live's destruction. But, given what happened post-2000 I can live with it.

To stay on topic, I am still jamming on this song, it is really great to hear CT put down such a massive guitar solo. I think it is the best one he has recorded period. Also, the riff modulating during the solo is wicked!!

The way the song goes out is awesome too, Kevin hitting the big note and then sliding it upward is too damn cool.

I'm trying to be objective, in the face of a song that's in a style I don't generally go for. I really don't think the riff is all that good...

The core riff isn't all that great, it is quite simple (I figured it out in under a minute). BUT, the way they develop it throughout the song is really cool.

Instead of just staying with the one riff (like Lakini's Juice for example) they do different things with it to keep it fresh, and to give the song some great rock dynamics.

For example, who was expecting the big stop section after the guitar solo? Not me, and I've been writing and producing rock music for a long time. I'm rarely surprised and was really expecting them to just head back into the chorus there.

I would agree completely, if you weren't the moderator for every single board on here. I don't think it is a moderators place to make snappy comments to anyone. Also, as a moderator it is your responsibility to not take things personally. You normally do a decent job of that, but not on this thread.

I've complemented you several times on being fair, but your recent posts have me concerned about the future of the TGF forum on here. It is clear I'm not the only one. That is all.

You've given me a few negative rep points for saying... well, nothing really. I can only assume it's because I've played devil's advocate for Ed and aren't crazy about the TGF track. Whatever gets you off, I guess...

You can hate the TGF track for all I care. It makes no difference to me. I've given both positive and negative points to many people...not just you. You are just the only one who seems to have a problem with it. I'm sure I get my share of negative points as well.

I only have a problem with the fact that the negative feedback seems to have been given for no good reason. Not once, but twice. Just seems strange, silly, and pointless.
