I love this album. I skip the last two anti-war wanker songs. Not that I'm for the war. I'm against it, more than you can ever know. I just don't feel like Bring The People Together and What Are We Fighting For fit with the rest of the album. Plus they're lame and gratuitous.

An anti-war album would be fine, but I felt like the addition of those two songs broke the flow. If you listen to tracks 1-11 you have one of the most hard-rocking love song albums of all time (IMHO). Especially Everytime I See Your Face, Out To Dry and the most awesome Lighthouse! To me, it's also the most cohesive album since Mental Jewelry. Most of Live's albums are kind of mixed bags, especially Secret Samadhi and V. In fact, V is one of my favourite albums. It has several of the greatest songs of all time, notably Deep Enough, Transmit Your Love, Forever May Not Be Long Enough, Flow, The Ride(!), Nobody Knows and Hero Of Love. I generally skip the other tracks.

This is the thing about Live. Some editing is required. I hate to say that but that's how I feel. This is coming from a man who has a long love relationship with Pink Floyd, Rush, Grateful Dead, Yes and many other truly great bands. Yet I rank Live as my second favourite band, just below Rush, the greatest band on Earth. tongue.gif

I think it's great that I can express my honest opinion on this board. It's not like that everywhere on the internet. Without free speech, this method of communicating is pointless.

You know, something struck me to dig out that CD just last night. It's my least favorite. But I love Like I Do, Sweet Release and She. I skip the 2 you skip as well as a bunch more. Like Run Away, especially, lol.

I'm with you, brother. Birds of Pray rekindled my lost love for this band. It inspired me to go back and dig deep into TDTH and V, which I have and greatly appreciate. I can honestly say that since buying BOP in May '03 (I think it was May) I have literally listened to at least one song from that album nearly every single day since. It may be due to the fact I began dating the woman I will marry this June in March of '03 and we are both big Live fans, but that album speaks to me (and us). Like I Do, She, Everytime I See Your Face, yeah...awesome. I have sort of commandeered these songs as if I wrote them myself.

As good as Mystery and Night of Nights are, I feel like this new stuff is just not as powerful as BOP. I know most will disagree with that statement, and that's fine, but to me, BOP is the shit. thumbsup.gif

I don't agree with your BOP or cohesive album comments, but yay for Pink Floyd Rush and Yes. Listening to Close to the edge right now.

Top5 for the hell of it.
Lakinis juice

I dont agree with you there at all, the last 2 songs are just as good as the other and do in my view fit good at the album.

compared to sfbm, bop was a great album, i Think sfbm is just a pop album of course there are good songs on it, but not as good as Bop is..

In the words of Mcpheezy, LOL. I honestly thought you were joking with this post.

The only thing I agree with that's been said in this entire THREAD is that LIKE I Do is an awesome tune and one of LIVE'S best. Other then that? LOL!
