I had a feeling it was, the lyrics describe the TGF bio story line on the song.

It's been added as a new snippet on MySpace page underneath the webcast.

The sound in the extended sample of Honest Man rocks hard. I really look forward to hearing TGF debut.

Ed is a pussy bitch who somehow went from the top of rock n roll to aspiring to be a TV gameshow loser wannabe. This is your brain on drugs.

I'm trying hard not to make any judgements until I can hear the FULL albums, but so far both Ed and TGF's stuff sounds really generic to me... just different kinds of generic! smile.gif

Based on the TGF samples, what exactly makes it "generic"? In music, generic implies that it is trying to reach a really broad audience and thus becomes bland (like Ed's music).

The TGF samples, while not doing anything remarkably new, doesn't really sound like much that is out right now and is clearly aiming for a specific group of people (classic rock and mid-90s rock fans). It might not be original, but it isn't generic.

Errr, fellas. Why do you still call the TGF samples something that mid-90s had? Yanno, I bet they sound much more classy, dating back to mid-70s.

Hence sounding generic. We've heard these sounds a million times before. It doesn't really matter whether it's been a while, you can go on iTunes and download a million songs just like how these sound SO FAR.

My hope is that the full songs are something special. Anyone can tell you 30 second samples can be deceptive.

But if they had decided to make a jazz album, and it sounded like every other jazz album ever made, it would be generic jazz.

Right now, these songs are super generic for their genre. There's nothing special going on in the samples.

I know the "WE LOVE TGF AND HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THEM EVEN BEFORE THEY EXISTED AND THEY COULD POOP OUT AN ALBUM AND IT'LL BE THE GREATEST THING EVER RECORDED AND OH YEAH ED SUXS!" posters on this board won't get what I'm saying, but you've chosen to devote yourself to a band before actually hearing their music... so I don't think anyone could say anything to convince you otherwise...

Indeed, but I'll take this generic rock over da Ek's generic American Idol pop-rock.
