In an article, on again a new festival Ed will play, the title of Ed's new album is called.

it's quite strange they tell it, because Ed never released the title to us.

Anyway... it is............ ALIVE. nervous.gif Hm, to me it follows the list of blend titles Ed names his songs lately. I wouldnt be surprised if this would end up as the real title tho.

So first we had Awake, and now Alive? a"LIVE"? nod.gif very sweet to include the name of the bandhe was kicked out in his title.

Btw, Ed's name keeps popping up on Dutch festivals I havent ever heard about. I mean, first Dauwpop, and now "Rottepop"? What?

Anyway, here it is: http://www.rottepop.nl/shownieuws.php?nieuwsid=10

(sorry, i dont havethe time to translate it to English). It doesnt list a drummer, btw, only:
Ed Kowalczyk: Lead Singer & Guitars
Rhythm Guitar: Adam Kowalczyk
Lead Guitar: James Gabby
Bass: Chris Heerlein

Holy shit.

When we got a rumour of the Best Of back in 2004, and everyone aboard was offering names for the compilation, my first call was ALIVE..

But this...

Alive. Hmmm... yeah, forgettable, predictable, but completely fine.

Not everyone will know who Ed Kowalczyk is, this will associate his name to his former band. I think it is a good marketing move. I also feel it is a parting shot at his former mates.

Of course you do, his new album could be called "Donkey Dick" and you'd support it. Once again you seem to care more about how something is marketed than the content itself. I really sometimes think you get more enjoyment out of other people knowing about Live than you do listening to it yourself.

Calling it this will also draw criticism from people and critics who see him as trying to ride Live's coat tails instead of truely breaking free on his own to do his own thing. It's gonna keep fueling the fire of asking what the point of going solo was if you're just gonna keep doing the same old same old.
As far as I can see it's just to probably clear his own concious so that he doesn't feel so bad having things 100% his own way since everyone else on board are just session musos instead of friends and band mates reduced to session musos.

Oh that was a nasty little snipe .. don't know where that came from.

Like Ray said, predictable type of title. But in the end I guess what's in a name? I'd judge more on music merit, but until that comes along..

Reading the review Sakhmet2 posted (
from http://eldia.com.do/espectaculos/2010/3/18...n-Santo-Domingo ), and also counting the songs we already knew, let's give a fair shot on the possible tracklist of Ed's album:

* Zion
* Everlasting Love
* The Great Beyond
* Drive
* (Dirty Water, Lotus Flower) ?
* Just in Time
* Grace
* In Your Light

8 songs.... guess we'll find out about the remaining titles soon.

I've never heard of The great beyond, just in time, or in your light... what did I miss?

You forgot to add forever and believe to the list. Maybe purify or whatever that song was called... There is no reason he shouldn't do a version of forever with the new band.
