Those old MJ songs are played very hard rocking back in the days. Go listen to the Uof Rhode Island, The Sting and Sao Paulo boots to name a few. Those songs were charged up. Listen to them in the years 1999-2004 boots......not the same.

Is this song directed towards Pat and the two Chads? "You were wrong, there was Grace". Sounds like his twitter post where he said, "it was all completely untrue".

"You saw the enemy, I saw your face". In other words, throughout the last few years, there was grace from Ed's perspective. It's also a diss at the name 'The Gracious Few'.

"You were wrong, but I still have faith". Ed's taking the higher road, and he still has faith, which could mean a number of things including faith in them.. maybe one day they'll get back together.

My favorite lyrics: "People like you and I, spinning through space".

Interesting interpretation. Yeah, even with the God lyrics which I don't like, the song is growing on me. I'm a sucker for the sound he's gone for, as over done as it is these days.

Im dont get why people are not liking this song! This has hit potential written all over it if it gets promoted. Definately another success along the likes of a Heaven song. In fact, reminds me off something from BOP album. I like it and it is a radio friendly song. So far Ive heard Zion and Grace and am digging the vibe off Ed s album. Even Everlasting Love isnt horrible and not a bad album filler. We will still have to see what the rest of the album has on it but it is a shame that there in not a new LIVE album coming out with Believe, Zion, and Grace on it. I thnk we would all be pretty excited to this point about what we are hearing,

...because not all of us base whether we like a song on whether it could be a hit or not. Considering most hit songs are formulaic and bland this isn't really surprising.

It is simple, if someone's tastes lean to tame, mid-tempo pop/rock then they will love Ed's new album. This is the Daughtry/Nickelback/David Cooke market and Ed is clearly aiming for it.

You reckon? I wouldn't exactly call any song on MJ heavy, at least on the cd anyways. Like I said when they were performed live they were heavier. There was a massive step up in terms of sound just being sonicly louder, heaviness and rock from MJ to TC, the acoustic guitar features much more prominently in MJ than any other Live album. I put on MJ not to rock out, but to chill to or groove.

Just caught up and listened to Grace. It's not Jeff Buckley that's for sure - it's not even Supergrass. Ed's voice is absolutely beautiful on it and it's a damn shame the song is so uninsprired, uninspiring, boring and generic. But hey ho, if I was under the sword of Damocles and the only thing to save me was choosing if I had to listen to either this song or a TGF song, this would be the winner. But I could do without listening to either.

I actually like Daughtry but his music doesn't stand up over the test of time like old LIVE does. It is too generic and Grace sounds a lot like it. But if it makes Ed happy, cool. I'll buy the album because I love LIVE. The same reason I'll buy TGF's album. Overall, I still love Ed's voice but I like the songs and music from TGF better.

I agree...the test of time will be if I still am listening to Grace in a couple of months or just skipping over it on my ipod.
