I can't believe I'm going....My brother and I both entered. We agreed to take each other if one of us was lucky enough to win. All week he kept busting my chops telling me he won and then today he calls me and says you better call in sick tomorrow because were going to see Ed!! At first I thought he was goofing on me again, then he let me listen to the message from friendsoflive. I was like Holy Shit dude your telling the truth!!
It will be interesting to see how Ed acts,,,,,hmmmmmmm those of you on this board know what I'm talking about. I'll let ya know.
I just wanted to share this awesome info with my live friends. I wonder who the other 4 lucky winners are??
I'll give ya a review as soon as we get home. I'm so excited yay.gif

My friend was at the Yankee game today and said they didn't play Ed on the jumbotron. Wonder what the deal was?

Did anyone even find this on the MLB.com site? I looked all over the place, but didn't find a reference to Live anywhere. Did this event even happen??

Yes it really did happen and it was SURREAL! First of all I wish all of you could have experienced Ed the way the 9 of us Lucky Ass winners did today. We were escorted into this room which was about 10 x 11 super intimate! They had us sit in a semi-circle on the floor, then Ed came in big smiles. He was friendly, sweet, even seemed a bit intimidated if you can believe that. I swear the room was sooooooo small and there he was this big hero of ours standing right in front of us, strumming away, singing his heart out just for us.... eyebrow.gif yea ok so it wasn't just for us but dam it sure felt like it. Ed even said to us wow this is intimate, I mean any closer and his spit would have hit all of us, I'm not kidding! It was great. and the music well he was right on. He played The River (twice because he didn't like the way it sounded the first time), I Alone, Lightning Crashes and Heaven. My heart was pounding, he sounded so good. I kept thinking I can't believe I'm sitting here, I'm a lucky bastard. The nine of us watched Ed all in that stunned, starstruck kind of way, hanging on every last word. In between songs he chatted with us, talked about Germany, upcoming shows, his wishing he didn't have to fly everywhere, and feeling like he needed a Starbucks double expresso which by the way he even invited us to Starbucks after the gig! I almost fell over. He was calm, somewhat shy (in an alluring kind of way, but most of all sincere in a way I've not seen before. Being sober probably had a lot to do with it. I'm so glad I got to see and interact with him on this level. Very different from the club scenes. He took pictures with us, autographed whatever we wanted and then.... he really did meet up with all of us at Starbucks, how cool is that?? Can't wait for Starland to see my new friends and hear some kick ass music againnnn. Don't know what happened with the game but they did say this would be on the website, they interviewed us and did a lot of filming. Thank you to everyone that had anything to do with this experience I will never forget it.

The show sounded very cool, but why no I Walk the Line? Guess Epic messed up yet again. It would have been cool to have Ed play throughout ball parks across the country...very nice promotion. Maybe Ed never learned how to play the song acousticly.....its just very shabby to promote something and not deliver.

Oh yeah - what the fuck is going on with official Live news nowadays? I thought FOL announced a few days ago that Ed was going to perform a version of "I Walk The Line" that was to be broadcast live via the jumbotron. So come to find out there was no live broadcast nor no "I Walk The Line" performance. What a joke.

Our "MLB Guide" stated that they were unable to get the video stream arranged. There was no mention of "I Walk The Line" by the MLB Guide or Ed. In fact, none of us asked. If you preorder the cd from MLB.COM you will recieve links that will stream the entire performance of the songs. There was an interview that was done elsewhere in the studio that is also to be part of the preorder bonus. The bonus videos will be on the MLB.COM site for about two months and should be available in the middle of next week. It was a really great performance. Ed showed a lot of passion as he performed each song. So people should preorder just to see his performance. He really rocked out and gave it 150% of his emotions! It had a totally different vibe than the VH1 acoustic performances that he did last month. Peace-Susan

I'm sure Ed knew the song. It's very easy to play...Am, Em, and Dm. And who really cares if it didn't happen. At best only 1,000 of us knew about it from FOL since it wasn't on MLB.com. Besides, the big part of the promotion is the stuff on MLB.com and over a billion people a year visit MLB.com, which is nothing compared to the 40-50 thousand fans at Yankee stadium who probably wouldn't even remember the event cause they were watching the game or too drunk. (Not a diss on Yankess fans, it's just what people do at sporting events).
