You would hate this since you like the lighter, gay side, of Ed.

Sounds about right. If Forever is an indication of how "heavy" his latest offerings are, we might as well become 45 year old woman.

If this song was by "The Gracious Few" I have a feeling you would be saying that this was the best song you heard in 10 years. Do you dream about their promo pic every night wishing that one day you can be the one handing them beer during the show? Nick takes so much crap for supporting Ed and I see the same thing with those who follow 'The Few'.

I just heard the interview and song. I think Ed is trying to take the high road when it comes to his status in Live. I know we want him to be honest and say yes I did this and I did that. That is not going to happen so we have a choice either think he's scum and not follow him onward outside of Live or just continue to be a fan.

I enjoyed Grace. I like the groove of the song. It doesn't rock the way Live songs do but its heavy enough for me. I will not jump to conclusions and say Oh he's Christian Rock now. Are people basing that conclusion upon this song and Zion? Don't get me wrong, I am not a huge fan of Christian Rock. I am going to give him and the album the benefit of the doubt.

Wish someone would have recorded it. I wonder if Ed will offer it through his fan club. Looking forward to a show if he comes here to NY.

Speaking just for myself, I said it is an awesome song. And I love Ed. I just get turned off by the lyrics. I know I am overly sensitive about the monolithic presence and influence Christianity in American society and politics. That's based on my own personal views.

Frankly, it was the rebellion against monolithic religious influence in Live's early lyrics that attracted me most to Live in the first place. By the time we got to SFBM, I still admired the fact that Ed sang about how "you can find your own way, I found their all the same." And now, Ed's music seems to have taken a 180 degree turn, preaching that he has faith and looks to the Lord above, and wants to be taken up to Zion, and this reinforces the rigid thinking of others.

As I said, I'm over sensitive about these things. It's the same reason I hate Sarah Palin.

Very good point Fish. I enjoyed the song. It was a good song. I don't care that he's gone in this direction.....but to each his own.

I've seen Ed in concert numerous times in concert, and the guy never preaches about Jesus or God. He may have found his path, but he lets others find their own. I can respect that.

This song can fit in Christian rock and regular rock formats because it isn't overtly about Jesus/God. Thank God for that! tongue.gif
