That was decent, I'm quite surprised. I like it. It's a shame he isn't performing that with the rest of the guys, but that's all water under the bridge. I wasn't really before, but I'm interested for Ed's record after this.

Dan doesn't have it hosted on Rapidshare or Mediafire yet?

lol.gif

Song was better than I expected considering it's called "Grace", Ed may have purposefully tried to force something harder given the criticism he's received on the interwebz and of course CAGs twitter comments last year.

If it's hard and good, natural, I'll like it. If it ends up being "forced" then it could suck. I'll have to listen to this track a few more times.

Either way, it was better than expected. I was thinking it was another pop song like Everlasting Love.

Definitely had a heavy religious overtone to it...but it didn't sound 'preachy' to me...I definitely enjoyed it

The song is way produced into sounding louder. I'll give it credit. A good song. The song is still very AC though.

Ed is on
http://www.project961.com/main.html

Just played Lightning Crashes (acoutic live in studio)

Ooh, this is a good interview.

"I don't think it's worth focusing on". - Ed K (when asked why his was a 'question mark on Live's MySpace')

"I'm not predicting the future, we're on an indefinite hiatus"

Yeah definitely. It has a big sound, but isn't particularly 'heavy'.

Awesome song! But with the words faith and grace throughout it, it definitely has a Christian rock them going.

Look, I love Ed. I love the Live songs about spirituality. But I really don't like the fact that he has now framed his lyrics squarely in the Christian rock genre. Grace, Zion, Believe, Everlasting Love. Come on, what's happened here? We are following a Christian rock singer now. I like the more universal spirituality that is open to everyone. I respect Christianity as a path and I have a pretty liberal open view of it. It appears that Ed does too. But I hate when Christians preach and prosylatize to others and when Ed writes every song about it and tweets every post about it, I think he is getting preachy. He is wearing it on his sleeve. In this song, he actually sings "I've got to get this message to you". And what bugs me more is that it reinforces the limited thinking of close-minded people who think - yeah - faith and grace - Ed has finally accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and now he can have access to salvation. Maybe Ed even thinks that way now himself, and that bugs me more. I didn't sign on to follow a Chritian rock band. That's not what I signed on for.

I wish that every song that I have heard from Ed's new album was about more universal concepts like nature and love and peace and stuff. Cause the songs sound pretty great. But I can't get past the lyrics. I'm not excited about jamming in my car to songs about grace and faith and the "Lord up above". Months back when that dude from the Christian music website signed on here and said that Ed found Jesus, I was like "no way". I guess that interview was really a weather vane for what was coming. Ed has gone full Christian rock.

Someone needs to ask what label Ed is working with....

This song will definitely go to Christian Rock, Triple A, Rock and Alternative formats. Definitely not a Hot AC or AC song though.

If this song was by "The Gracious Few" I have a feeling you would be saying that this was the best song you heard in 10 years. Do you dream about their promo pic every night wishing that one day you can be the one handing them beer during the show? Nick takes so much crap for supporting Ed and I see the same thing with those who follow 'The Few'.

Look at the AC charts, this song does not fit. Maybe Hot A/C, but I don't think it is a natural fit. I have to listen again.
