Sent out my recommendations as soon as I saw the update on facebook. Might request off every friday and saturday from work in April just so I'm sure I can make the concert. Plus working those days sucks anyways.

Or maybe a snippet of it at the least. People don't know what they're missing out on!

Wow! Is this a VIP package to watch them post on TWATTER? Or pose for some promo photographs?? Or play 5 seconds of their songs?? Or auction off some instruments?? 'Cause in the last year, that's all the "band" has done so far that we've seen. smile.gif

Or maybe now they will play some actual music from beginning to end and we can finally find out if they're worth all of the love and devotion some people on this board have pledged to them??? bounce.gif

I want them to rawk, but this whole "we're afraid to let anyone but die hard fans hear our music" thing is frankly quite scary. Doesn't sound ready for primetime to me at all. Most bands WANT people to hear their music, they don't hide it, because they know GREAT MUSIC will spread their name far and wide!!!

So if Appetite is the greatest thing recorded in the last 25 years, why aren't they promoting the hell out of it? I mean, c'mon, if it's that great, there should at least be a 30 second section you feel comfortable posting on your website...

They also said it was a rough mix ... if you were in a band would you really want to start promoting material before you've actually finished it?

I agree, there's been a lot of cock teasing going on, but I don't understand why some people are so upset about it. The only thing it makes it hard to do is for us to promote the band to people not already familiar with Live or Candlebox ... we say "You gotta hear this new band The Gracious Few!" and they say "cool, what do they sound like?" and we say "....I dunno".

But it'll all come in good time, considering the band really only formed what .. mid last year? and they're aiming to have their first record out in under a year, that's not bad.

I still don't understand how this argument can be made around here. All we ever wanted Live to do was to take a year to write and record an album together, something that really hadn't been done since The Distance To Here. To me, where The Gracious Few currently is would be equivalent to Live when they were recording the TDTH demos or the sessions that created Pilgrimage to the Southern Stars. Even now that the TGF album is pretty much done, it still sounds like your expectations exceed the band being in post-production of their album. We aren't supposed to hear as much in this current phase for TGF, but maybe down the road we'll get lucky and get some of the demos from the sessions they've been having for the last few months.

Also, I don't mean for this to be misconstrued as expected the TGF album to approach The Distance To Here in terms of greatness. Just the process that is being taken seems awesome to me.
