I wasn't trying to personally attack you. I just find it annoying that the Chad Taylor has basically tattle-tailed on Ed on his blog to try and make him lose fan support.

Do we know the backstory of why Ed did what he did, or if he even did it at all? I am sure many bandmates over time screw each other over in some way or another, just most don't feel the need to post personal issues on some blog.

If Chad just said the band broke due to creative differences, things would have been fine. They could have taken Ed to court over the other thing, and if true it would have all come out over time. The way things were handled, just did not appeal to me.

I consider the way Chad handled it a sign of just how aggregious his behavior was. We don't know the backstory... you're right, but in absence of Ed making any attempt at clarifying, I have no reason to doubt what was said. Over the past 10 years, LIVE has very much fell from the mainstream and has been pretty much solely supported by it's loyal base. Maybe thats why Chad felt the need to discuss the sitiuation openly... but I'm guessing.

If Ed were to come out say... yeah that happened.... but let me tell you about what those guys did... then that'd be something else entirely. At that point, maybe it's even, maybe I don't like any of them and they can all kiss my ass. I don't know. But the way things are today... from what I know... it just seems like a big rock solid one sided fuck you and that bothers me. It says something about Ed's character... which for me, with this band... is kind of important. That in and of itself maybe silly and childish.. but I have a lot of time... a lot of good times.. invested in this band. In the grand scheme of things... it doesn't really mean all that much, I'm not a superfan or any kind of mark in any way. But when the subject does come and I visit here, i do like talking about the band and the entertainment I've gotten from them over the years.

Beyond that, we're solid. No harm no foul.

Beyond all that

I do apologize if what I said came out as a personal attack. It wasn't my intention at all.

It's all good.. I was in a bad mood I think. Thanks for the apologize.. though it's not necessary... it's stand up of you. I was being condescending in my response now that I re-read it.

Trust me I can be a total ass when it comes to Live. The whole break-up and fallout has been a real drain. I hate that The Gracious Few are basically trying to make fans take sides on whether to follow them or Ed. It is totally counter-productive to try to build a fanbase by tearing down your old one.

Between you and I it is all good, no hard feelings.

This is a silly argument ... I still don't believe that CT said what he said with the specific motive in mind to make Ed lose fan support. Its not like he just pulled that story out of his ass, whether its 100% true or 85% or whatever, if there was absolutely no truth to it what-so-ever and he was just writing it purely to be an ass then he'd be copping a hell of a lot more backlash for public dephormation than we're hearing ... I think he was getting sick and tired of the rumours floating about and people demanding some kind of explanation .. he can only tell things from his side and point of view and if Ed chooses to respond or not is up to him ... CT came out with the story a day after that Jon P guy turned up here sprouting what we initially called BS on, but then im guessing there is not much coincidence in CT learning that the truth was close to coming out so he may as well set the record straight before the lines get blurred more ... to think the whole thing is a conspiracy against Ed is ridiculous.

That being said, whether someone chooses to see Ed or not on moral grounds is their choice .. and they don't have to justify it by saying that if they don't see Ed then they can never watch 2 and a half men or sherlock holmes (why anyone would want to see either of those in the first place is beyond me). Maybe those shows dont hit home personally enough with the people and there is less emotional attatchment .. you can't just throw a blanket rule over everything. To Chris is seems Ed had a much bigger influence on his life than someone like maybe Charlie Sheen has and that Charlie Sheen's fall from grace may not effect him in the same way (I know it was Wam that brought Sheen into this, but as an example..).

Nick you are baffled into how someone can have 2 different opinions, I'm baffled as to how you always see in such black and white .. you always seem so cock sure of yourself that what you believe in is true. It's really rare to see that in people I think, it's interesting. It's like you can hear an argument and you just somehow know categorically what is right and wrong. Most people can see the shades of grey inbetween where everything isn't dealt with in absolutes.

I agree with itschris here.

To me LIVE meant more than just good sounding songs, the lyrics meant something that I believe in. If Ed and his message are really just hypocritical and a means for him to get rich, then I don't want to support a fake with my hard earned money. It doesn't mean the songs now suck, but they lose their real meaning for me now. I'm not saying I can't ever support anyone who has done something bad, that is not the point. It's the specific product you're selling. If you just look at the music as only a form of entertainment, such as a movie or product etc., then who really cares about the personal life about someone making money off of it. In the past I would have already booked the tickets, now I will just wait and see. I know the exact truth is not known, but for both Gracey and Taylor who have been friends with the guy for twenty years to come out and say Ed purposely screwed them out of money and the response we get was "its all untrue, we deserve better" doesn't really cut it for me. He doesn't owe us anything going forward, but If that's where it's ends then I have really lost my interest in the artist.

Tiger Woods is losing sponsorships because he was selling a false sense of a stand up husband father character Truely I could cae less about the guy's private life, but he was using it to sell a specific "product". That specific contradiction is the issue here for me.

Ed may have screwed over his bandmates, therefore every song the man has written throughout his career is now meaningless.

Only men who practice fidelity drink gatorade.

Okay I'm checking out, time for Hulk Hogan's return to wrestling.

Then we would have an internet argument that would never end with the potential for severe ugliness. I have plenty of experience with those myself.

Hey, whatever the real truth is, we know some semblance of what happened with the band. I've formed my opinion based on 10 years of Live sliding down the popular music scale. I know this, creative differences is why they are no longer moving forward as the 4. The contract stuff is a segment of this scism.

Pat saying, 'Lets Rock N Roll', TGF's song named 'Appetite' says to me they needed to split and get back to making music the way they always hoped and dreamed and became successful at. Not some popularity contest, milk the cow, lets just play the hits, and make crappy new music scam we've been getting since mid to late 2000. Nice thread the past 2 pages people thumbsup.gif

I have tickets to the Vegas show!

If anyone has seen this tour or has heard, what is the crowd like? Wide range of ages as at any other Live show?

In NJ it was a pretty laid back crowd, but they were into the show just the same. The whole vibe of the night is pretty cool, and all three artists put forth entertaining sets. Age wise is all over the map, but mostly late 20- late 40 range I guess?

Where are your seats in Vegas?

Good to know, thank you. Seats are in the front row of the VIP section...decided to splurge this time around & am looking forward to meeting all three artists as well. I think I read an earlier comment that you are booked for this show as well, where are your seats?
