Questions For Ed's Phone Call Options

I'd like to start a database of questions for anyone who wins Ed's personal phone call from his fanclub. I know he won't just talk about Live, but it would be nice to get someone who won't just lob him softballs when they talk to him.

Here are some of my ideas:

The Past

Chad T stated that you created a secret deal without the majority consent of the band. What is your side of the story?

The band claims that you would not respond to contacts by them about the situation. Why not?

In his statement he said you are no longer a member of Live and will never perform with them again. If the other members were on the line right now, how would you respond?

Will we ever see Live fronted by you again?

Live undoubtedly has a large catalogue of unreleased songs that fans would love to hear. What are some of the song names that fans have never heard of?

Is there any chance that fans will ever get to hear unreleased material by Live?

The Present

You've always been Ed. Why, with the solo career, have you gone to the name Eddie K?

Knowing that the economy is down and the music industry is in a slump, what is your expectation for the sale of your new album?

The first song you released is Zion. You had Purifier, Dirty Water, Lotus Flower, and now this. Why do you write so many songs with lyrics referring to this one topic?

What drives the cost of the Eddie K. pendant to $100?

Future

After this album and tour are said and done, what is your next move as an artist?


These are some of my thoughts. I'd like to get a really good list of questions we'd like to get addressed so that if one of us gets a call they're ready to play hardball and get some answers.

He wasn't always "Ed" btw. Around 1991 or 92, he toyed with the name Zedd and after 1995 he was insisting on "Edward" for a while. If I asked him that question, I'd phrase it something like
In your career, you've been Zedd, Ed and Edward and then Ed again. These name changes seem to signal some change in the way you present yourself. How does EddieK differ from Ed? Was the name change a subconscious or conscious preparation for the band's hiatus?

I'd go to ask him something and he'll measure the tone of my voice and cut me off mid sentence with "Wait a minute ... you're a guy aren't you?" .. I'd say yes and hear the phone hang up.

So what was the deal with the phone call? Are you guys taking the piss or is he really going to charge someone for a phone call? I didn't take enough notice of his fan club and can't be bothered going thru it all again.

Oh about the name change to Eddie, I think he talks about that in the Dutch interview that someone posted recently.

He said part of the fan club will be people getting the oppertunity to talk to him on the phone ... he didnt mention price or anything but he said he'd do it. I honestly hope whoever gets to hits him hard with questions.

Yeah, that interview along with earlier interviews.
He always says that all his friends call him 'Eddie', so he just thinks it's nice to keep that. "Ëd is when I'm in trouble". Well, I guess Chad T still calls him "Ed" then!
