So, I've been listening to 'Zion' over and over, like a geek, and I must say I really like that song. Really like it. Not since the TDTH have I enjoyed hearing Eddie in studio. It's a great song, with great lyrics, and Ed sounds awesome....

It just makes me so mad that he could'nt write this and still be with Live. I think the guys could have made this song even better then Ed's backup "band". Hearing CT do the back-up vocals while Ed is screaming "he's gonna ruuuuuuun" would have been awesome.

Stupid Ed. Make amends ! Damn it !!

I do believe he wrote this song while with Live. It was called "Songs From Black Mountain".

Zion isn't brand new. He posted himself singing it in a hotel room when he first started his site and there is footage of him playing it acoustically on youtube at a show. He cuts it out of his "bootleg series" when he sells the shows.

He probably chose to release this song because he's floated it out on his site already.

I just listened to the version of They Stood Up For Love that was the free download concert that came with the EK fanclub membership, and I thought the same thing. "Damn you EK." I love an impassioned rendition of They Stood Up For Love. The brilliance of that song gets me every time. As I was listening to that thing, I said to myself, "The EK could have run shirtless through my neighborhood shooting a machine gun at my house and I would still love him for the music he's made for me to listen." I can almost forgive anything because of the first 4 Live albums and his continued talent in performing them. A good Live concert is about the best experience you can have. See Live perform I Alone, They Stood Up For Love, Lakini's Juice and White Discussion is worth a heck of a lot to me.
