Here is what I consider to be the best Live concert performance out there. I think it's better than the Paradiso show (mainly because it includes White, Discussion, and Run to the Water) but also because the camera work is superb. The director seems to really know Live's material and gives all the band members adequate time. This show isn't filled with multiple quick cuts or gratuitous crowd shots. The only down side is that Lightning Crashes is omitted which is a shame. The main show is shot in anamorphic 16:9 which is a bonus.

Also included on the disc is an interview with Ed on a Dutch TV show called Jensen! Ed talks about the band's first time in Holland (this story is also recounted on the Paradiso disc, but Ed tells it much better in this interview) and Ed also performs 2 tracks acoustically. This material is shot in 4:3 aspect ratio.

The DVD also comes with a basic menu which allows you to select each track. It's nothing special but it does the job.

This is a pretty big download (over 4.3 gigabytes) - it will take a while to download if you have a slow connection. I have split the DVD into 200 megabyte pieces. Once you have downloaded all 22, you can use WinRar to unzip and combine them into a DVD which is playable on your PC and you can also burn it to DVD to watch it on your TV. This DVD is in the PAL format, so Australians and Europeans will have no issue watching it. People in the US will need PAL compatible equipment (DVD / TV).

Yeah this is an excellent recording. I was front row at this show back in 2006. Was really nice. I'm even in this video a few times ("Who put the flower" part of TSUFL for instance) Always funny to see yourself in the crowd

It was a long wait for Live though as 3-4 other bands played too. Nada Surf, Calexico (which I really like actually) and Tocotronic. Because of the this the concert wasn't that long and though good, doesn't hold a candle to the Paradiso concerts for the DVD. Those are in my top 3 of Live concerts that I've attended

Yep you're right. It was the day after :-) I remember because I was there too. First time for me at Paradiso. Waiting outside was fucking cold!

I think the setlist in Koln was very simular to Paradiso, but Paradiso was a lill longer.

Unfortunately I'm kinda clueless when it comes to macs, but it seems there are multiple programs out there that would allow you to extract rar volumes on a mac.
